Gorgeous Motor Way Stormer That'll Rattle Your Bones At The First Sign Of A Speed Bump — Power is ok, it's not the fastest car i've driven and it isn't gonna nail every car from the lights but from 3000rpm it pulls like a bitch regardless of what gear your in (5 speed manual). Handling wise it's not too bad either although living in the uk it's getting harder to put that to the test since the government discovered speed bumps, which brings me to my next point. French cars are renowned for their rattly interiors and believe me people, this one doesn't dissapoint in that department! Styling wise Peugeot got this absolutely spot on, no suprise really since they drafted in Pininfarina, the same people who pen ferrari's. The interior's user friendly and the boot space is enormous! This car only has 4 seats so if you've got any more than a wife and 2 kids stay clear. The 406 coupe seems to be more at home on the motorways than driving round town, in october this year me, the wife and kids did a 450 mile round trip on 1 tank of petrol. Finally, in my experience Peugeot dealerships in the uk are a bunch of rip off merchants that'll over charge the simplest things so best taking your car to a garage you use regularly cos these days a "full dealership service history" isn't worth the paper it's printed on!

Pros: The way this car looks, it's awsome...

Cons: The build quality is typically french, leaves a lot to be desired!

Family Work Horse — had mine, a diesel seven seater for over five years and 100k, its a work horse. as long as it has regular services and the required cambelt changes, it will keep going strong. the seats arnt as comfortable as they could be on long journeys & electrics can be a bit of a pain - does tend to go through light bulbs.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: fuel economy & reliability.

Cons: electrics

Time Was Not An Ally. — It was a leap forward for Peugeot in terms of ride quality, craftmanship and complexity. it looked good at its time and stood firmly against its competitors. after 100,000 KM it started to wiggle, the gear box fall apart, the AC blew away and it lost value.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: It had a good style.

Cons: The gear box was rubbish

Good Family Racer — Great performance - looks like a family container, but has the power of a GTI. Good build quality. Understated appearance with elegant lines for a station wagon. Overall costs are OK compared to the cars age and mileage. Surprisingly good mileage for a 3 litre engine. The power of the engine is great fun, but breaking and handling in corners could be more sporty to match the power.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Big inside and the acceleration of a GTI

Cons: Engine parts are expensive (3 litre V&)

Unless You Love Trouble - Avoid. — French flair, excellent ride, silky smooth 3 litre V6 - if only the French can get the rest right as well. Rattle-lover's dream. Pathetic dealer service. Had to replace disk pads every 15000kms. Really got to know the dealership in Johannesburg well and vowed never to touch another French car.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great motor

Cons: French!

More Than Wut I Bargained For — performance:210 bhp with a 3.0 v6 engine 0-100 in 7.2 sec, brembo brakes, very solid with a bit of understeer somtimes on very high speeds. build quality: its been with me for 4 months but so far so gud. appearance: havane leather interior, light metal grey exterior. cost: 13 to 14 liters per 100 km. fun:lovely and fun to drive on either low or high speeds

Pros: the looks, performance and stability

Cons: high fuel consumption

Peugeot 406 (2.0 Hdi) — Great handling, low fuel usage, really silent and conford car to run. Performance could be better than 110hp (2.0 HDI). I have driven 170000km without major problems. Car is designed over 10 years ago, but it's still good looking car.

Pros: Low fuel usage, great car to drive

Cons: Old looking interior

Stationcar — I like the comfort, and the way it looks. I dislike it`s performance - to slow for a man like me... But hey anyway I`am a familyguy... The perfect familycontainer. :-) The Peugeot 406 is a piece of common art - it smiles at you every morning. All in all i gues it`s the most perfekt and complete car from Peugeot ever...

Pros: Looking good.

Cons: Driving to slow.
