Max — The performance of the car is not bad. It has 3.0L V6 the has 222hp from the factory and a 5spd manual transmission that will still burnout in second gear. The handling is sharp and responsive but the turning radius is marginal at best. The brakes work well under normal driving conditions but become very squishy after a few hard stops. The standard transmission could use a little help because the gears do not mesh well making it difficult to put in gear sometimes. The style of the car I like. The interior is fully loaded and the stock sound system provides ample base for the average user. The car has required more maintenance than i care for but when is is running well the car averages about 24mpg and is a blast to drive. I have had mine up to a 130mph before I ran out of room on the highway.

Pros: The car's style and over all handling are really good.

Cons: Transmission in the car and the brakes are the biggest down side.

2001 Maxima = Fun — Good acceleration, brakes well, good handling. Doesn't squeak or rattle. So far only problem was starter died and plastic on top portion of radiator cracked so both were replaced. Interior and exterior styling is top notch. Gas mileage is decent but it requires premium grade fuel so right now that it hurting the wallet. Overall I love my car

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Good acceleration, especially at freeway speeds. Fun car to drive on a daily basis

Cons: Requires premium grade fuel. With the price of gas it's hurting the wallet

My Maxima — Great all round driveability. Great looks. Very reliable. Been driving it daily for 2 1/2 years and compaints are minimal, just a good all round car. Only real complaints are SEL and vinyl instead of leather on seat area.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Looks, power, reliability

Cons: SEL comes on and off

Great Car In Basically Every Aspect — Wonderful car, reliable as anything, just hit the 110K mark and it needs a couple things, namely a new cat and ABS sensor, but it's to be expected with any can at 110K miles. It's incredible FUN and PEPPY, and sounds incredible when opened up. The engine is bulletproof, and has never had any issues at all. It's also very comfortable, and offers tons of space, leather, traction control, side air bags, heated seats, and everything you could want in a 2001 car! Safe, reliable, fun, and it looks incredible!

Pros: performance, reliability, looks, comfort

Cons: 110K hump, not as much ground clearence as a big SUV

Solid Investment, Will Easily Get Your Kid Through College. — The maxima is a true performance sedan, great handling and acceleration. Quality is top notch inside and out. I have owned this car since new and replaced the alternator, battery, radiator, brakes and rotors. Still gets 30 mpg and will run another 120K miles.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Reliablity and Style

Cons: None, new ones are a bit pricey.

Very Fun And Reliable Mid Size Sudan. A Good Family Car Too. — I'm very happy with my 5 speed 20th anniversary edition. I'm 35 and its so fun to drive! the only problem is the radio system. this has always been a problem with this car. The side window doesn't work.As I write this, it is May 04, 2010 and this car still drives very strong!!!!! It has 130K on it.. Mobile 1 and premium gas... get in and drive whenever in the country you want. It wont let you down!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Quick, Great Engine, Reliable, Nice looks

Cons: electrical small stuff,

Descent — The acceleration of the car is great. The in terior design is sleek spacious and comforitable. The amount of times this car has had a broken starter is more than twice. But its a good car to drive. If you Like speed.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Speed

Cons: Starter

Fantastic Commuter Car. Not Bad On Gas And Not Ugly Either. Low Tco — The interior is nice, and the engine has pretty darn good pickup. plenty of room for my family of five when our SUV broke down. I have spent $$ only on tires, brakes, alternator, and a battey & tune up since I bought this car with 45K miles on it. Highly recommended.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: 140K miles and keeps on ticking.  Low maintenance

Cons: The turning radius and wipers suck

Like My Maxima Alot — i like my car, very sporty yet for the family as well, i bought mine used for 2,300 from a friend of mine with 130,000 miles on it. the check engine light is on but it is suppose to be due to an o2 sensor being replaced and the computer not being cleared, not sure but it is not giving me any problems at all. drive it everyday, my previous car which i still have is a 93 honda accord...hate to say but my honda rides just as smooth as the newer maxima...wow..but overall the car is fun to drive, love the interior layout, acceleration is awesome, seems to get good gas mileage!

Pros: nice ride on highway, bose stereo, comfortable, layout of enterior

Cons: check engine light is on, little wind noise

Maxima — Great car, comfortable but the gas mileage on the 2001 was terrible. Overall it was a very smooth driving car with so so acceleration. I would probably recommend the SE trim to anyone looking at the Maxima. It was not a fun car to drive but it had more power and extras than the Accord's of that time.

Pros: smooth drive

Cons: gas mileage
