Commodores Are A Good Family Car. And Ford Suck! — Not too bad! Holdens are a good start and if you want to spend a little money on them they can look awesome. Recommended buying a newer vehicle cos most of the older ones have been flogged out. Altogether happy with the car.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Looks good...

Cons: Farts a bit.

Awesome!! — For starters it's a Holden!!! Only prob I find with the VT is Doors are way to heavy, when you put your foot down takes a couple of seconds to take off. Motor does have a reputation for having issues, but havent had a prob with mine.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Because it is a Holden

Cons: Loves the petrol

Vu Ss — The VU ute was the 1st line of the longer wheelbase commodore utes which allowed greater cornering. With a Gen III 5.7L V8 in the SS, it certainly needed it. Nothing like feeling the instant power of the V8 in a 6 speed manual. Got rid of the stock SS mags and replaced with chrome. It sits on super low springs, hard cover, twin exhaust from Lukey, hard cover, big mouth air intake and Chev Engine covers.

Pros: Plenty of power.

Cons: Very thirsty

Holden Vu Ss Ute 2001 — I purchased the Ute in 2001 from a dealership. It is powered by a 5.7 Litre (350) Chev motor. It has a 6 speed manual gearbox and slippery diff. The FT2 suspension has been lowered and 18" rims replaced the standard 17" rims. Recently modified with the "Thunder" sports lid on the back and the "GTO" bonnet on the front. I have just replaced the Holden by Design rims with new 18" Asaka rims. I prefer the shape and style of this ute compared to Holdens latest model. The Ute is fun to drive and I get about 9.9L/100klms in fuel consumption on the open road, not bad for a V8. I recommend sandbags in the back for stability in the wet. A camber kit would be ideal on the back too. Rear tyres wear on the inside.

Pros: Power, realiabilty

Cons: light in rear, tyre wear on back

Holden Vu Ss Ute — It needs a Kangaroo repeller as standard... I love the look, the lid and GTO bonnet really sets it off. The manual gearbox is slick and the motor is reliable and powerful. A lot of fun to drive and a real head turner....wouldn't swap it for anything. Scouts honour!!

Pros: Power, economy

Cons: light in rear end, slides out in wet
