Gets Me Back And Fourth — This vehicle has had issuses since day one. I have had my Tranny rebuilt at 22K and had to have additional rework. I applied the emergency brake and the brakes have been jammed ever since.

Same As Previous But In 4x4 — Ford builds tough, This car was good to me, not as strong as a Toyota but bigger and more confortable. It still had those generation of turbodiesel with almost no electronic, and that was a big bonus.

Pros: The car doesn't surprise anywhere, but it never disappoint either...

Cons: With 20kw extra on the TD, it would have been the perfect car.

A Solid Truck Altogether. — Despite having put a good deal of money and garage labor into this truck, I still think that it's pretty decent. I do wish that I had the four-wheel version as it is not as good as my old VW Jetta on ice and snow; I find that while it is generally a reliable truck, there are design flaws that are annoying. I told my favorite mechanic that the blinker doesn't work unless you have the steering wheel completely straight and that the designers also weren't so bright to make it so that one can't pull the driver-side safety belt over one's self without having to first open the door. I have figured out that this is because there is no room between the seat and the driver- side door, literally, no room... I also don't care for the placement of the spare tire under the truck bed... But these silly complaints aside (no I couldn't design a truck myself!), it really is a pretty good ride and much more comfortable than my Dad's Ford Explorer.

    Pros: Sturdy and seemingly indestructible.

Cons: Too many little design flaws that make some things a pain the butt.

If Driven Carefully Gets 20 Mpg With 4.0l Engine With 4x4 — Relatively good in snow with 4WD. original tires lasted 6 years, 42K miles no rust yet. relatively good gas millage (~20 MPG Ave.) poor air conditioning poor turn signals. backup lights stopped working (if they ever did work.) Pulls a 3,000 lb boat ok pulls loaded utility trailer ok

    Miles Driven per Year:7,000

Pros: relatively good gas millage for this type of truck (manual trans.)

Cons: poor air conditioning- leaks like every other similar ford that I have owned. Signal lights turn off before turn is complete.

Meh ... Its Suitable . — My weakest of my 3 owned vehicles . With that said , its also the heaviest. I feel that the 3 liter has to think about speeding up . Its better on Gas than the S10 despite what fuel costs.. Engine always fires up, MY thermostat is rated at 195 degrees but will melt your face off if you need it too. Great overall truck for daily driver...

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Reliability

    Cons: As strong as a 4-Banger ( 3.0 V6 )

Ford Macho Ranger — We've loved this truck from day one. Plenty of room for storage on short or long trips, to work and back, etc. Comfortable driving with cruise and efficient with a 5 speed. No pesky and expensive window motors either! I like it a lot. It does have a little bit of a blind spot with the B pillar being so big but isn't an issue. Sold July '12

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: reliable, comfortable, efficient for a truck

Cons: nothing to point out. it's not a brand new, bells and whistles kind of truck payment

Built Ford Tough — 2001 Ford Ranger.Edge Edition.2WD Rear Wheel Drive.Extendend Cab With Truck Cap.V6 4.0 L (245 in).Automatic Transmisson. Since Owning It, I've Converted All My Fluids To Synthetic, K&N Cold Air Intake, Plugs, Wires, Motorvac (A Complete Fuel System Cleaning). Truck Has Never Let Me Down And Has Towed Whatever I've Trown In The Back Of It With No Problem.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Reliable!

Cons: Guzzles More Gas Then I'd Like It To. Achieve Decent Mileage With It Being 2WD, Easy Driving, K&N Cold Air Intake And All More Fulids Being Full Synthetic.

Great Work Horse, On A Small Budget At The Time — great truck... had a few issues, but nothing that couldnt be fixed with a little research... no ecu, so i had fun with the engine, cold air intake, magnaflow exhuast, 2 1/2 lift, 32 inch pirelli tires, 17 american racing rims, flow master heads, k&n intake filter, jackson racing radiator, and MSD ignition 9mm wires

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

    Pros: great work horse

Cons: trans problems, cracked body lift, replaced and rewelded, ... if you wanted something that you can learn off of... get this truck
