Great Family Car Wth Poor Fuel Economy — its a 2.0 ghia x , has full service history, in silver with camel heated leather seats, nice to drive, 6x cd changer, ice cold climate air con, not good on fuel, heated frot screen is great, trip computer helps, bit slow, big boot for the family, shame somebody crashed into it

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: top spec

Cons: somebody crashed into it

Brilliant All-rounder — My Mk3 has fab build quality (huge improvement over the earlier models). Far more modern interior than cars of the same class & age. Nice place to be and a pleasure to drive. The 2.0 Zetec has a good amount of power without being thirsty.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Quality at a great price

Cons: A tad common

Underated Sports Saloon — Can't beat that engine's sound. Doesn't attract unwanted attention when pressing on. Had a few issues early on but most were because of the previous owner. Handling is great for a car this size. Performance isn't as good as some other cars out there, but it's fast enough when yu need it to be and comfortable at the same time. Great car though.

Pros: Sound. Performance. Looks

Cons: V6's don't like being thrashed from cold.

Best Reasonable Prices Family Car? — A really modern car, modest price but all the features you can expect. It handles really well, its like a sportscar to drive - only with a more "rational" (ie economical/boring) engine. It deserves muscles! Build quality is fair but deminishes too easy and too quickly. It was a good car to own, at least the first 10.000km, then it was downhill... Poor material made the springs break (all of them) and the rear brakes needed attention regularly. All in all, its was economic & fun to drive as well as safe (good rating in Euro Ncap).

Pros: fun to drive (handling), safe, cheap to drive, all modern features

Cons: Deminishes fast beyond 10.000km, breaks needs regular attention, poor material, rust problems in doors

Ford Mondeo - Thousands Of Reps Can't All Be Wrong! — A roomy car that will swallow an astonishing amount of gear. The good ride deteriorates with time due to it's habit of wearing out it's rear suspension bushes. Parts are suprisingly pricey considering it's a popular car and road tax is quite high. On the other hand it's economical for it's size and performance. Equipment levels even on lowly models are good - remote locking, air con, leccy windows front and rear, abs, remote boot release, heated mirrors, heated front screen, discs all round even on the LX.

Pros: Equpiment, space, economy, comfort, handling, more exclusive than BMW 3 series.

Cons: Pricey parts, high rear end can make parking awkward, good refinement means you're going faster than you think!

2001 Ford Mondeo 5 Door Hatch — This is a very comfortable and economical car, despite it only being a 1.8 TDCi LX! The interior is roomy and comfortable, although a bit worn in places, Mechanicaly, the car is solid enough, with just the servicing needed. Performance is adequate, but due to the mileage, I won't be pushing the car hard! Appearance: Despite a huge graunch up one side when a wall pulled out in front of a previous owner, the car still looks fresh and smart.

Pros: Nothing awesome, it just does it's job without fuss

Cons: The car is 7 years old and has done 240,000 miles, so some things don't work anymore!

Ford Mondeo — Ford Mondeo, mebmer of a great Ford family. Looks more like a car for bussinesmen, but it's power provides a joy for most young drivers. Handling is perfect, it really stays on it's track, though acceleration depends on type of a machine from 1.8L to 2.5L and diesels like 2.0 TDCI nad so on. Appearance of the car will satisfy any taste. Both interior and exterior is made brilliantly, but in my opinion interior is better than exterior...it could be more sporty. Maintenance depends on where you live, but mostly it isn't expensive car to maintain it in best shape. Car for any age, for people who have real sense for cars.

Pros: Big car, very comfortable and powerfull

Cons: Sometimes not enough sporty, more like big strong limos

Mundane Mondeo? — The ubiquitous family car - roomy, comfy, a good cruiser with good economy for it's size, I've had smaller cars that weren't as good on petrol. Handles and steers well and has a reasonable ride. Reliable too! Shows how far "average" cars have come over the years. It's my fourth Mondeo so draw your own conclusions

Pros: Space, comfort, handling

Cons: Boring looks
