2001 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab 4WDReview

2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 Slt — The truck has decent power, a very good ride for a pickup, and impressive interior quality for a Chrysler product and year. It will tow just about anything you can hook to it, but that sends the fuel level needle down pretty quickly. The gas mileage isn't bad for a pickup--about 16 around town and lower 20s on the highway. Maintenance is easy. It's capable as a true work truck or hauling around 5 or 6 people. I would readily buy another. The 4.7L V8 is smooth and refined with good power.

Pros: Ride, handling, power, reliability, interior fit-and-finish, capability, value

Cons: Blind spot due to size of A-pillar

Koto 01 — Overall pretty happy. The V6 is a bit weak and something with more HP would have really improved things. Would replace the tires and breaks since both were fast to wear out. The only real issue i've had so far was that the blower fan went out, however it was under warranty and fixed promptly.

Pros: Great Looks

Cons: Weak V6

Its A Great Little Truck. — Its 2WD with a V6 and a manual tranny. I swapped in a 9 1/4 rear axle last year into it to have the larger brakes and more strength. It gets great gas mileage, has plenty of power, and is great at hualing items.

Pros: good gas mileage, small yet stronge for its size

Cons: the V6 is not a V8

2001 Dodge Dakota — Lets see, what I like is that it has been very dependable. Looks sharp. I get about 18 to 20 mpg. Not bad for a truck...the V-6 is a little under powered. The crew cab has a full bench back seat. Ford and Chevy's small trucks didn't have.

Good Truck, Built For Hauling Smaller Loads — big fan, especially since my dad got the stick shift option. fun to drive, peeling out is really easy in it

Pros: stick shift

Cons: rear-wheel drive makes it difficult for unexperienced drivers in the hills of pennsylvania in the sinter

Great Truck! — This is the second one I've owned. So If I am willing to buy it again It definetly has to a good piece of equipment.

Pros: Great power.  Very roomy.

Cons: Not so good fuel economy.

4.7l V8 Has More Than Enough Power — This truck whippsss. Flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust make it roar. Stock Goodyears have poor wet traction and tread wear, but the rest of the truck is bullettproof.

Pros: Only V8 in its class

Cons: Ext Cab interior too small
