Definitely A Great Car To Drive. — I like, when it's running correctly, the nice smooth ride. I hate, however, the problems we are having with the suspension, such as constant fishtailling. it is fun to drive. It has its problems, but I generally enjoy the ride.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Smooth drive, roomy, large v6 engine: 3.8 liters, nice comfortable, adjustible seats

Cons: suspension troubles, bad front brakes.

Sea Sick? — Really nice inside. All the lux, leather, heated seats, power everything, OnStar. However the suspension is really mushy. Not my kind of car

Pros: 3.8 gen II GM motor has pep

Cons: suspension

Family Car — This car has been just OK for us. We replaced the transmission at 120,000 miles and just replaced the battery after 10 years. After 130.000 miles it has begun to have a valve lifter noise on cold start-up. I am hoping that it does not get any worse. It uses about a 1/2 quart of oil every 1000 miles which is not bad for the age of the car. 2014 update - sold the car with 175000 miles on it. It was still running OK but I was worried about its reliability.

Pros: It has been a reliable car and has a good ride.

Cons: We had to replace the transmission at 120,000 miles

The Lesabre Is A Very Nice Ride. — This Buick is like a Cadillac. It rides well and is very quiet on the highway. The automatic trunk pop is a real blessing at the grocery. You just push the remote button and it opens... then you can put the groceries directly into the trunk.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: This car is awesome, very comfortable, and easy to drive.

Cons: Well, it does not get gas milage like a four cylinder.

Comfy Riding Second Car — Just bought it used, 49k miles! I needed a reliable backup vehicle and got a lot of car for the money! This vehicle has like new leather seats, dual power seats, dual climate control, power everything, cavernous trunk and traditional styling..not flashy but gets me where I need to go comfortably!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Reliable spare car, great gas mileage for a full size sedan, soft ride, cold air, power everything

Cons: Small things like: switch back lights (multiple on steering wheel and dash) ($12 in eicko 8111 t1 .065a bulbs from Amazon, a soldering iron and some free time to replace),  cruise control switch does not stay clicked on ($20 replacement), left passenger door lock/window module needed to be replaced ($50 ebay motors replacement), dash mat separating and lifting up (I ended up fitting a thin piece of flat molding between the curling dash and grill and it is holding down the dash perfectly..a good long term solution until Buick releases a fix (I'm not holding my breadth :-).

This is the right kind of Buick for a grandpa like me. Purchased mine as one-owner from non-Buick dealership. It had only 79,000 miles and was 9 years old. You can NOT follow company maintenance schedule - wont work. You must change oil every 3 months or at least 4 months. You will spend about $1,000 a year for wear and tear maintenance. You want the car to last for 200,000 miles then dont run it into the ground. Change battery every 3 years around August or September before winter weather begins. Change antifreeze and transmission fluids and clean out every 4 years. Get all new brakes and rotors at 100,000 miles. Any one job like brakes and transmissions etc will cost $1,000. Actually half is for parts and the other half is for labor. Cant be helped. If you keep any car going like this it is cheaper than $500 a month car payments for 72 months (6 years). If you want a sports car.. this is not the car for you. But, young people dont look for a car like this. But, there are more Buick LeSabres running around this community that you see other brand cars except Hondas and Nissans, etc. A 6 cylinder V-6 has so much pep and get up if you floor it it gets you out of jams that a 4 cylinder car SUV could not do. Im from the V-8 era. Im not looking to go from 1 - 60 like a Vette. But, at 20 or so mph... when I floor it it jumps to 2,500 revolutions per minute and books out of trouble spots!
