I Love 7 Series Bmw's But — Cheap tacky plastic components that fail for a car of this price range. Failing cheap plastic on the radiator, cup holders, internal engine components like timing chain guides, plastics in the display components were terrible thats why there are all these instrument cluster display issues, the quality of plastic sourced and used by Hella and BMW is sub standard on the electronic components, engine and sliding moving parts the list is endless. Also use of weaker suspension parts especially on the models with suspension assist options like EDC or SLS is totally unacceptable for a car in this price range. You're were better of with nThe only other luxury model with such issues was the Audi A8's. No such complaints from Lexus, Infiniti, Mercs or comparable cadillacs. I've owned a Lexus LS, a Merc S550, driven an Infinity M45 but never a cadillac or lincoln.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: A++ for speed, power and agility. Both the e38 and e65 and F01 all are surprisingly agile for a car that size.

Cons: Cheap tacky plastic components that fail for a car of this price range. Failing cheap plastic on the radiator, cup holders, engine components like timing chain guides list is endless. Also use of weak suspension parts especially on the models with suspension assists options like EDC or SLS is totally unacceptable for a car in this price range. Get It If You Can Afford It. — It's a GREAT car. I'd recommend buying one. The engine is amazing with the 4.4 liter V8. It helps to have a good job if you need to replace things, but when you do i'd recommend looking online for cheaper parts cause will find them over going to the dealership. The Build quality is great it's GERMAN! The looks of it are classic and inbodys the German fabricating at the time. When I was looking this car up before I bought it, most of the web sites i used said it would average about 14mpg, but that seems really hard to do to get gas millage that low. I average right around 18mpg. It's a very fun car to drive even being a a massive car, once you get going you can't even tell that it is.I love my car and I love BMWs. and they love me.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: EVERYTHING

Cons: maintenance cost

Attractive Car — Performance is good and fun to drive. Quality built vehicle. Nice car inside and out. Gas mileage is OK. A vehicle that was a head of its time. Acceleration is there when you need it. Repair costs are high so go to BMW (European) certified mechanic - save $. Felt safe and in control of vehicle at all times.

Pros: Sports model. Powerful V12 engine. Nice drive/ride.

Cons: Cannot rotate tires (front/back tire sizes differ). Premium gas only.

Bmw Rules — No dislikes, best body style of the big luxury vehicles out there, combines the best of all worlds. Luckily it is not my commuter and the gas prices are not affecting me as much. Though, if we would just get rid of the POTUS we could start drilling and increase supply, thus lowering prices. Economics 101.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Pure Fun

Cons: Premium Gas

It Feels Just Like My 5 Series To Drive But It Has That Limo Quality To It... Excellent Car!!! — Nice and powerful, nimble for its size and weight. It is fairly quick on acceleration but does suffer slightly in the corners due to sheer weight but for its size its amazing! Classy, cool and good looking, its a 4.4 V8 so likes fuel, but it is worth it for the sheer presence of the car on the road.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: You got to try one to appreciate it!

Cons: Don't buy an abused one, it will cost you a fortune to sort out!!!

Best Bargin Of The Year If You Can Find A Good One At 100kmiles Or Less — Bought my 01" 740i Sport 2 years ago with 98K miles on it. I had the transmission fluid changed (450$ EEK), Spark Plugs, Belts, Coolant, you name it. Since then,..Have had no issues whatsoever! Car gets great highway mileage,..25 mpg or better if you keep it under 90mph. The car corners like a Vette, rides on the highway like a limo with the confidence of absolute control. The car still gets looks everywhere I go! I paid 13K$ out the door, invested $4K in preventative maintenance and I feel this beast will go at least another 150K miles. Interior seats are the most comfortable I've ever sat in. I do a 140 mile round trip daily and wouldn't consider driving anything else. With the economy the way it is,...What an outstanding value!!! Highly Recommend.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Looks, build quality, mileage, handling

Cons: Wish I had another one!!

Just for the fun of it ..There was an lady who bumped into me so i have to reapair some stuff and i want to repaint it. Then am satisfied again !!!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: The engine

Cons: When the electronics fails
