Perfect Balance Of Sport And Luxury, Without The Hassle Of M5 Maintenance. — Classic BMW styling, built like a bank vault, V8 grunt and roar sounds terrific with the windows down. Almost no noise inside when they are up. Will easily top 160 mph with the current Dinan tuning. Aftermarket and OEM parts are cheap and plentiful. Fun and comfortable, every day driver reliable and well balanced sportiness the way a sport sedan should be!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fast, V8 sound, room for 5 with a big boot

Cons: Gas mileage is pretty bad. Little electronic things will go wrong, but not a big deal. Cooling system is a weak point. Goes through tires quickly.

Bmw —

well to start off, obviously the reason i bought a BMW with a V8 was for performance purposes, and boy does it ever! articles on this vehicles performance range of course, but i can vouch for 0 to 60 in under 6 seconds, and a limited speed of 155mph, the ability to tear concrete right off the road with all the grip, or throw the rear end out for a perfect power slide:) After my couple of tanks of gas , i was amazed to find what "good" gas mileage it got. The first long distance trip the on-board computer said 28mpg , not so willing to believe it i did the math, and to my amazement it came in 1 mpg less at 27! not bad! and with a good sized tank feel free to hit the open road with no intentions of stopping. I pushed the limits once and got around 450 miles. On the bad side... it is a BMW... so, after having the car for about 4 months, just driving down the road, BANG! my rear differential exploded! luckily i had had a friend following me for a ride home. I did take it to my local dealer, and for a brand new diff and installation it cost approx $2500 to fix (ouch) so to sum up my 540i the performance is great gas mileage is great, the sound system is great, the ride is great, the seats are great, all together it is an amazing vehicle! despite repair bills ill give it a perfect score.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: FAST, FUN, BMW!

Cons: repair bills

:) — Expensive to repair and high running costs. All worth while for driving long distance in comfort just soaking up the miles. Big boot and plenty of interior space with enough power under the bonnet for when the roads open and good handling for a large car

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Cons: fuel bills

If Your Thinking About One, 2002 5.40i Would Be Recommended. — The presence and the functionality of the cup holders are next to none. As in many German cars, cigarette lighter fuse goes out very often and prepare to clean your wheels almost every other day as break-dust takes over almost after the first turn.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Everything.

Cons: Cup holders.

4d S/c — It's a true 4-door sports car - period. Work vehicle, family transportation and a weekend racer. The V-8 with 300 horses, awesome torque, 6 speed tranny and heavy duty clutch make this sedan a sleeper - but can outperform any production car on the road...

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: BMW knows how to build cars for driving...

Cons: None...

Really Worthwhile And Good Quality After A Lot Of Use — solid, comfortable, reliable and fast. also spacious and as it is the Touring model very flexible. only real negative is the legroom in the back when a tall person is driving. good feedback when driving hard both steering and seat of the pants

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: overall a great automobile

Bmw Is Safety & Performance — SAFETY & PERFORMANCE. The BMW tradition of performance and safety can not be ignored by the discerning driver. Traction and build quality is superb. The cost of ownership and maintenance in Nigeria is on the high side. On the whole, BMW is the best!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: PERFORMANCE

Cons: FRONT LOOKS

My 540i Experience — Fun to drive. IMO a little too big for a 6 speed, so I'm happy that it's an auto. The 6 speed feels better fit for the M3. Drives great in the snow too! Slap on my spare set of snow wheels and I'm ready to go snowboarding!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: BMW Solid

Cons: BMW parts cost
