I Like It. — It's alright. It's not automatic and it lost its heat so it is a cold ride during the winter. But all is good.

Pros: Sun roof and it's decently quick.

Cons: Automatic

Great Car To Get Yourself Started With An European Car. — Car was great for all the seasons except winter, espeicailly here in the upper peninsula. The style meets my standards for sure. The interior was roomy. We did fit 5 people all the way to Chicago in it.

Pros: Awesome Gas Milage

Cons: Weak engine for winter driving...

Yes — its peppy... has some tuning possibilities... especially the turbo model... the 5 spd is definitely a plus...

Pros: interior is slightly larger than the jetta... but still over all a smaller car...

Cons: its a dub... its not the most reliable thing on earth

Great Ride If You Can Afford The Repairs — I loved my Passat. Until it broke. And broke and broke and broke. All told, I spent as much money keeping it running in the four years I owned it as it cost to purchase. Extremely high maintenance, but a blast to drive (when it's not in the shop).

Pros: Handling, Power, Styling, Stereo, Roominess, Comfort

Cons: Gas Mileage, Premium Fuel Requirement, Frequent Repairs, Electrical Malfunctions, Expensive Service Bills

Like The Jetta, But Bigger. —

This car was a direct replacement for the sadly departed Jetta. It's an upgrade of sorts. Like the Jetta, it's the GLX trim, the top of its model line short of 4motion all-wheel drive. Like the Jetta, it also had all the bells and whistles and packed a 2.8 liter V6, a slightly more power 60 degree V6 as oppose to the Jetta's narrow 15 degree V6 designed to fit in the space of a 4-cylinder. Packaged with a 5 speed manual, a rare combination among 4-door/6-cylinder "family" cars in the early 2000's, this car was a great cruiser. And practical too, easily accommodating 5 passengers for a smooth commute. There were a few more maintenance and repair issues with this versus the Jetta, though not astronomical compare to the Bonneville. I attribute that as one of the reasons i wanted to sell this Passat, but mostly it's because I was promiscuous (for lack of a better term) when it comes to cars. Originally, it was to be replaced by the doomed Miata. But a dumbass teen behind the wheel of (ironically), another Jetta changed that. I waited another 2 more months to find something else to buy before I sold this at a small profit. Service date: 8 July 2005 to 17 June 2006 (sold) Gasoline used: 89 octane over 9000 miles at an average of 25.63 mpg. Per gallon cost ranged from $1.979 (12/17/05) to $3.199 (9/3/05). Historical footnote, 89 octane cost me $2.299 at the first fillup on 7/29/05. On 8/27/05, two days before Katrina hit New Orleans, it was $2.569. It peaked on 9/3/05 fill up and fluctuated within $.50 of that over the next few months before dropping slightly below the $2 mark in December of 2005.

Pros: Fast, fun, and all the bells and whistles like the Jetta, slightly more expensive.

Cons: Integrated foglights, no steering wheel controls

Love-hate Relationship — I have a love-hate relationship with this car. I love the car's appearance...it's extremely sporty for a 4 door sedan. I love the leather interior, the tiptronic transmission, the v6 engine, the moonroof, the sound system... I hate the price of upkeep and repairs, the extremely weak a/c, the oil leak...

Owner for 2 years, 0 months

Miles Driven per Year:12,000

Pros: leather interior, moon roof, tiptronic transmission, v6 engine, monsoon sound system

Cons: weak air conditioning, cost of upkeep, repairs, gas...

Reliable Car — The drive is great mpg at 30 to 40 fwy by my self with full passengers about 24-28. Little noise but not bad. The maintenance with oli change or anti freeze is expensive becuase its a turbo model. Performance side quick pick up but not a lot of power for a turbo model 150hp okay. handles great the car is fun to drive becuase its a stick shift love this car

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Power HP low, not a family car GREAT MPG

Cons: maintenance pricey
