Diesel Miser — 400,000 kms, 4.9 L per 100 k's. Chipped and nozzled, 130 hp at the wheels. My favorite highway ride of all time. And yup, its fun to drive. Cost of timing belts is a lot if you don't do the work yourself.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Been a great car!

Cons: Takes a long time to warm up in winter

Great Car To Drive, High Fun Factor — I love my Jetta, a fun car, fun to drive, excellent road feel, great acceleration, handling & braking (ABS). occational electrical problems, repaired by my VW mechanic (now runs great). I love the look, good on gas, burns some oil (typical of 2.0L engine). great amenities and comfort with style!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great performance & handling

Cons: fussy electonics (sensors) uses oil

Can't Really Beat It For The Price. — I loved that car. It was perfect in the sense that it had good gas mileage, nice personality and room for the friends and lugage! However I got it when it had over 100,000 miles and there were MANY mechanical issues developing... too much to worry about at that point so I decided to get the Mini.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Practical and efficient. Best speedometer lights.

Cons: Can't think of any just don't buy one with 100000k miles

200 Jetta Vr6 — Beautiful car. I like it a lot, the VR6 has power to spare for a compact car. GLS has every option. Beige leather interior, power everything, moon roof, climate control, cruise, 6 disc changer in trunk, 4 wheel discs, heated seats and mirrors. Handles very well, the 5-speed helps that VR6 engine get up and go pretty quickly. The only down side is having to put a minimum 91 octane in the car and synthetic oil and the high price of European parts, but thats the price you pay to drive most German vehicles. Comfortable, stylish and overall fun to drive, favourite car I've ever owned by far.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Styling, Options, Performance

Cons: Mileage, Cost of parts

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun, fun, and good fuel consumption

Cons: Cost of parts at VW

Reliable And Easy To Mod Compared To Others That Is Competes With. — My PLATINUM MAMA. We've been through alot together. The best is still yet to come! It all started in 2001 when I discovered here in my uncle's junk yard. The previous owner flipped her a couple times across 64. The passenger's side was completely smashed in and the sunroof was almost non exsistent. After about a year of bodywork and getting all the major bugs out of the engine Platinum was reborn. In 2004 she was the focus of my senior project. Mods that were added were 18" rims undercar light system, cool air intake and tinted taillights. Not much but it got me an A for my senior project and to this day it s the standard of how much work should be put forth on a Senior project. After freshman year at ECU all my mods came off and she was completely stock again. Small additions have been added since then but we have only just begun.......again

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Gas mileage is awesome

Cons: first gen for this bodystyle

Lots Of Fun But Not A Muscle Car — Amizing amounts of torque and power with little modification. Some clear coat peeling on front grill and hood. Even with more than 200 horse power still gets about 30 miles per gallon of gas. Car interior is immaculate for being 9 years old

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Car has amazing amounts of power for a family car

Cons: If you looking for massive amounts of power, get american muscle

This Car Is An Aquired Taste — Its very fun to drive, gas miliage is very good for a v6, 400km to the tank. Need regular maintenance otherwise can get very expensive. Has a few quirks but what car dosent. Has an absolutely beatuful sound to it.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: The sound... duh

Cons: It's a volkswagen....
