I'd Would Trust Toyota With My Life — Got this car from dealer after it's been in a crash (they did very good job, not a trace outside), it had 141,000 miles. Right after that I drove it from Chicago to Connecticut and back without a single issue (though dealer recommended to change rear brakes, and front tires were bald - I took care of it later). I already have it for a year, no issues provided regular oil change. I drive about 20,000 per year; I tend to believe those who say you can put 400,000 miles on Corolla (if you drive that long:), unlike in American cars. Yes, it is a bit slow on acceleration, but then I leave everybody behind. Stylish look in teal color, put nice chrome looking wheel covers from Walmart, looks great.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: lasts forever

Cons: no cons

Corolla Reliable — The estate model is exceptionally spacious. Its 1.8 liter 4 cylinders are enough to put you in good speed, both straight line and cruising. The braking is reliable and works well in wet conditions (after a bit of pumping action).

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: mileage

Cons: music system

Fielder Aerotourer Z — Fairly standard, just tein suspension and work wheels, bodykit is standard, upgraded stereo, has the 2zz-ge engine which has 190hp, the power arrives at 6000rpm thru to 8000 so it's got quite a short power band, power is enough to keep up with type-r's and some tubo cars

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: nice cruiser

Cons: no turbo

Worthwhile, Though Didn't Get My Hoped-for 300k Out Of It. — Just retiring my 2000 Corolla VE and it has 249,000 miles on it. got on this site to see if this year had frequent problems with oil consumption... been pouring about 2qrts/200 miles into my engine now for about 6 months. Carbon buildup inside the engine I was told. Still handles very well, however, aside from the engine other systems have been fine. In its glory days it used to get 40mpg!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: smooth ride, good handeling

Cons: engine trouble, O2 sensors, piston rings

2000 Corolla — This is a pretty good quality car, drove it for 5 years, and didnt baby it, and all it needed was oil and gas to keep running.. Its a manual so i enjoy rowing the gears, although the shifting is rubbish, however the clutch feel is good. Otherwise, looks, power, speed, noise levels, interior room, etc arent good at all.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Fuel Economy, stealthiness, Manual :P

Cons: Looks, speed, rubbish shifting, power, noise...

2000 Toyota Corolla Ce — The performance on this car is nice. There's nothing special about the appearance. It gets great gas mileage 40+. It loves to burn through oil, as in it's empty by the time you reach 800 miles. Apparently corollas have problems with the piston control oil ring, which isn't cheap to fix. As far as driving it gets you from point A to point B.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: gas mileage, reliable

Cons: burns oil very quickly

I'd Drive It Over And Over... — For a 9 yr old car it runs pretty damn good. fuel consumption is very ok for the age of the car considering its A/T. It's all stock inside and out except for the rims which i got from a corolla altis. ride and handling is ok. it only has 61000++ kms mileage on it. rides like new. maintenance wise parts are available and price is very ok. downside? leg room could use a little bit more tho the boot is very spacious.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Nice to drive. Easy on parts and maintenance. very many aftermarket parts available.

Cons: small leg room.

Good — slow...but peppy. great on gas mileage and a good car for student trying to save money. It is very inexpensive to operate and maintain, and when properly cared for can easily push past 200k miles. good overall vehicle. Nice!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: gas mileage, inexpensive

Cons: not exactly an adrenaline rush

A Great First Car For Your Teenager, Or Someone Who Does Not Drive Much — The 2000 Corolla is an okay car to own. The drive train is fit for the body, yet is not built for rapid acceleration. Drive is stiff and sporty, which is impressive for such a small sedan. Parallel parking is not an issue with the compact and easy to manuvre wheelbase. the spoiler option adds a sporty touch to a midget looking car, and provides a point of reference for reversing out of parking spaces. Both engines in mine have had slow oil leaks throughout ownership. Gas mileage is a good 30 mpg when stock transmission is installed. This car is however, a major upgrade from a new yaris sedan.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very economical, easy to operate, trunk space.

Cons: Drivetrain problems, plastic interior pieces deteriorate easily under UV, not a lot of rear leg room.
