Its A Good Long Lasting Car For Everyday And Snow...but Other Wise I Need Something With More Guts — Sluggish, no turbo....gearing is all wrong 80 MPH 3500RPM. and now it has a power streering squeek. Also on the plus side they last forever! Cornering is the best i have had in a while...low gas mileage and looks are just okay....

    Primary Use: Family transportation

    Pros: AWD I love snowboarding

    Cons: Sluggish/slow...

Loved The Car, Still Can't Help But Look Every Time I Pass One Haha — ran like a champ for 280,000 HARD miles. I rode it hard and it took it and waited for more. Rallied it, jumped it clear 5 feet high, spun it, almost flipped it, drifted it. Awesome car! I hated to see her go, but I loved to watch her walk away.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: fun! AWD was awesome for tight cornering, point and gas it and it went. 5 speed close ratio tranny

Cons: The wheel bearings on Subaru are notorious for going and I went through three pair.

Overall A Good Car If You Don't Care Too Much About It Not Being Very Sporty — Its too slow, and it runs too high of RPM's (65 mph is about 3000+)...it needs a six speed manual and a turbo. Head gaskets went at 125k but now they are fixed i am confident this car will go at least another 100k miles.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: reliable, and AWD will get you anywhere!

Cons: the head gaskets, and the power

Outback — The handling is great, and it is sturdy. That's all you really need for a car. I have only needed one repair for the brakes. Considering its getting old, that's pretty good. I'm not really sure about the gas mileage because this is the only car I've ever had.

Pros: It doesn't randomly break down.

Cons: It is sort of ugly. (In my eyes.)

Offroad Luxury With Fun Onroad! — It can go most places, it is relativly fun to drive, for a big car, although it can feel like the rear-end is trying to bounce off the road at higher speeds and over a straight bump the front end will lift slightly. Comfortable for long range cruises weak in town thought.

    Pros: Go where you want.

Cons: Just not too far from a petrol station.

Good Dd, Fun When You Want It To Be — A good daily driver. Easy to drive conservatively, and good on gas, with an 18 gallon tank, it gives you quite a range. The automatic transmission is a bit slugish, but you can manually shift with 1,2,3 and D on the stick. Hold the road extremely well, and can drive quick around the corners if you push it. Only problem I've had with it was a leak from the sun roof, but was repaired in an afternoon.

Pros: Gas Mileage, Tank size, interior features, boxer engine, AWD, versatility

    Cons: Automatic trans

Sturdy And Reliable — This car, purchased new, has required nothing more than regular maintenance during the last eight years. While the 4 cylinder is underpowered, it is reliable and handles well in snow and ice. With the optional pet gate, it is the ideal way to transport my two dogs to the park.

    Pros: low maintenance

    Cons: underpowered

2000 Subaru Outback Sedan Limited — Was a great car, had excelent ground clearance for a 4 door sedan (over 7 inches). The leather heated seats were nice. I never once had any issue with it. There were no rattles or squeaks in it. The transmission shifted funny and the 4 cylinder lacked real power, but I would get another one if I had the oportunity.

Pros: Everything else that isn't a negative

Cons: Not very powerful - transmission shifting was odd

8 Year Old Subie — Good overall utility vehicle. AWD to move through snow and mud, has lots of room for people and it can hold much in the rear, especially if the seats are put down. Sort of like a small truck with a camper shell, but more utilitarian. Not a looker, but it is not intended to pick up women! 200K miles and still going, although I think i need a clutch now. 150 hp, heavy car, so it is not fast or powerful, but gets the job done. 27 mpg on the hwy.....

Pros: very good for utility and gas milage.... don't need a Ford F350 to go to work in!

Cons: not a looker, many miles so it will die someday!
