It's A Great Little Ride. — The 'S' model of the Boxter is an all-around better car than the base model not only because of the extra engine size, translating to higher horsepower and torque but also because of the bigger brakes and the six speed transmission. Yes, you do give up a minimalist back seat (suitable for the under 8 set) that comes with the 911, but you get a true roadster look and feel in the bargain. Unlike the 911 convertible that, in a pinch, can serve as a family second car, the Boxter S is a full on sports car with no allowances for extra riders. If you want to haul around a bunch of friends or the wife and kids, this is not the car for you. If, however, wind in your hair and an attachment to the road that feels almost physical gets your adrenalin surging and you can manage to ride duo or alone without it causing social pain, this just may be your ultimate ride.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: I love the original Boxter look. When Porsche created the Boxter it was meant to evoke the feeling of the Porsche 550 Spyder of the 1950's; light, fast and with handling like its on rails. The Boxter S achieves all those attributes while providing a lot of creature comforts too. Porsche's are all 'bullet proof' and mine has certainly been a gem. It only rests in the garage, it doesn't go there to get fixed!

Cons: It's not as fast as my son's Porsche Turbo. Sometimes a little tricky to get in and out of…especially against a high curb.

Great Fun Car To Drive, Good Gas Mileage — If you like to feel you drive and enjoy quick responsive braking, steering and acelerating and shifting then this is the car for you. It can be too much car for people who prefer less road noise and more comfort and less road feel.

Pros: Installed new top with glass ear window and defroster unit in 2007, say goodbye to that old plastic rear window, no more getting out of the car to put the top down!!

Cons: some small scuffs on the right from wheel rim

Boxster — Definitely a drivers car. Not as hot on the UK's twisty B-Roads as an Elise since the Porsche weighs more. But the performance is still outstanding. Luggage space is HUGE compared with an Elise. Easily fitting 6 bags of groceries in the rear boot and plenty of space left in the front boot too! Surprisingly cheap to run, service intervals are HUGE and service costs low. Tyres, well, maybe expensive but then it's a 160mph car. Realistic mpg is 20 miles to the gallon.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It's a porsche!

Cons: mpg.   Would have liked to get 30 mpg like a Lotus can do.

Great Little Little Car! — The Boxster S is a great car. I love the way it handles. The engine has good power and the clutch/gear box works smooth as silk. I have owned many sports cars and the Boxster S is easily the best handling and most fun you can have for the money!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Riding with the top down is a real pleasure.  The way the seating and cabin is designed the wind does not buffet you the way it does with many convertibles.  I also like how quiet the cabin is.

Cons: Fairly large blind spot on the right side with the top up.
Maintenance is a little pricey.
Cabin is tight - no cup holders.

N/a — It is black with tan interior. It has a 5 speed transmission. It has a brand new top with a glass window. The motor has 30k miles on it and 113k on the rest of the car. It is a blast to drive with 230hp 230tq.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: fun

Cons: none

Porsche Boxster 2.7 Cabriolet — Porsche Boxster 2.7 Convertible. Lovely Car in Black, with a green leather interior (the interior looks a lot better than it sounds!) Drives really well, a lot of fun for the more spirited driver!! Experience in rear wheel drive cars is recommended as the 2.7 6 cylinder boxer engine can make the back end quite lively, due to having no traction control (I think this was an optional extra) despite the perfect weight distribution of the mid engine floor plan.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: A real fun drivers Car

Cons: As with every soft top, the roof will leak!!

Not Cheap To Run But Worth It — Slower than i want it to be. Perhaps an S or a 911 would do the trick. Petrol is getting more expensive again so economy could be better but the heavy right foot won't lay off. Buy one for fun.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: FUN

Cons: Other people's attitudes to it.

Porsche Boxster — I fell in love with this car, and ended up owning it for 6 and a half years. If it had been the 3.2 and had the glass rear screen I'd still own it now. Needed better wheels as well.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fantastic car for the money

Cons: Got too old to keep

Fun — I don't want anything else from a car. This fits the bill just nicely: from performance to space and daily drivability. So far running costs are low. This is a car that I wake up on a Saturday morning and think "Where can I drive today"

Pros: FUN

Cons: If you need 4 seats.
