3g Eclipse Gt — The acceleration is pretty good with a couple mods, upgraded breaks, handling is decent. It doesn't require that much work. but after 9 years the struts do clunk a little bit. The appearance is alright, i didnt keep mine stock because i wasn't too much of a fan of it stock. It gets a average of about 25-26 mpg. It's a fun car to drive, even better if it was stick. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: quick fun to drive Cons: styling, but enhanced when work is put into it |

If You Can Get It In Good Shape, It's A Good Car. Fun To Drive, Great Sound System. — Decent performance, plenty of torque to spin the wheels, could've used more horsepower though. Car sits very low to the ground, can be difficult to get out of, but adding the hard suspension gives a decent handling touch. The quality does lack a bit, such as the interior components, but Mitsubishi didn't skimp on the sound system. For a stock audio system, it sounds very good (especially for such an old car). I did prefer the looks of the '00-'05 Eclipse, becasue the new ones are too space-age. The 4 cylinder model has great gas mileage, and decent gas mileage for the V6 GT model, although it depends on your style of driving. So far, mine has been pretty reliable as far as maintenence, except for the cost of replacing rims when I first ran over something in the road, and then bent a rim from hitting the curb from ice on the road. Overall, the car is very fun to drive, and I do get the occasional comment: "Nice car". I would definitely be happy having this car for a while. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Nice set of tires and it handles pretty well for a FWD car. Cons: Some have had lemon issues |

Good Car — Could have made a version that had forced induction from the factory, however the V6 engine is at least workable for tuning. Car has been very reliable for me and hasn't broken down in the time I have owned it. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Expandability Cons: Passenger Room |

I Like It Alot, Once Youve Ran Thru The Car And Done A Nice Tune Up Itl Be Good For 100k+ — i bought an eclipse gt like 5 months ago and i love it. it had 130k on it and ran great. interior is stunning, its a sharp little car. and asside from its weight problem it still managed to take me around 150 155 on a runway strip and about 7 seconds 0-60 i love it its a smoothe ride and the ladies like em Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: great looks, solid platform Cons: plastic japanese pieces parts that tend to brake over time |

Mediocrity At Its Best — After owning a 1991 Eclipse GS I was expecting a lot from this car. While it was a good performer, it was not well made and the dealer experience didn't help. The V6 was mildly powerful, but not up to the performance of contemporaries such as the Mustang GT or the Mercury Cougar. Everything about the car was just "good enough". Nothing stood out as excellent. I traded it for a bigger car when my wife was pregnant. I'm glad I did. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Comfy seats Cons: Poor quality |

Right Above Alright/pretty Good — Car would be at its best on some rims and lowering kit, that's it. The car already has a gorgeous curve body and appearance. Definitely needs motor build and will mob any car. Great handling and hella easy to drive, 5 speed is where its at. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Easy to drive Cons: Not many performance parts |

A Great Affordable Sports Car — This car is very fun to drive. Acceleration is quick, braking is fast but smooth, and handling is very nice. My Eclipse has over 85,000 but is still very solid. It has some minor problems like the front windshield sprayer tube became disconnected somewhere and the radio gets a weak signal. The thing I dislike the most is the factory paint job. The paint is cracking and pealing where the sun hits it the most. I am hoping to get a new paint job soon. It has good gas mileage since it is a small car. Overall it's a pretty nice car Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Great Performance Cons: Bad Paint Job |

Great Car — My Eclipse was great! It had a custom paint job and it was very clean. My dad bought it for me crashed and we fixed it along with my boyfriend. The interior wasn't in the greatest shape at first because of the previous owner, but some good scrubbing and it was good as new! Very fun to drive and great on mileage. Pros: LOOKS and SPEED Cons: NOTHING COMES TO MIND... |

I Love This Car. — Quick acceleration, The GT manual version has good handling, first to second gear pulls are amazing. The throttles real touchy at high rpms, can really notice the increase in torque. The car is very fun to drive I would recommend it to anyone :) Pros: Quick, Looks good. Cons: Stock clutch is a joke, Parts are hard to come by. |
