A Great Comuter, Or A Fun Recreational Vehicle — I love driving this car. It's great for getting around town, or getting off of the roads. It's fuel economy / tank size are well balanced to give a decent range ( ~350 miles), and is very comfortable for family use And lastly, it being a Toyota, you never really have to worry about reliabilty issues. The one I drive on a regualr basis just kicked over 225000 miles, and it's still going like it's only got 25000.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great comuter. Incredibly easy to drive. Relatively stylish, and good looking.

Cons: Limited is only available with an automatic transmission (which makes sense, I suppose, but I prefer standard). Power delivery can be a little rough at times.

Great Vehicle — Great vehicle. Mine is still running strong at 150k miles. It will be hard to part with when that day comes. I like having 4WD but don't want a giant SUV. My favorite feature is the electric rear window for my dog.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Gets where I need to go no matter what

Cons: Too much torque spins tires on wet roads

4runner For A Runner — Needs more power! TRD Supercharger will be the first upgrade. Works great off road, with factory rear diff. lock and higher than average ground clearance. Of course it is much more fun to drive off-road! Gas mileage is OK for an SUV. Can't beat the build quality - it's built in Japan at the same plant they make the Landcruiser / LX.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Rear Diff. lock for 4-wheelin

Cons: Gas mileage and needs more power

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

99 4runner — It's just had some issues with the transmission(it's on its third) 230,000 miles on it, it's been a solid drive for years and I've had some good times. Handles decently, but the brakes occasionally need work. Mileage...isn't great. 19 MPG highway at max, 16 round town is my usual.

Pros: Handles well and is a solid drive

Cons: Third transmission, breaking issues, occasional acceleration issues. Most due to age and use

Don't Need One — This is a Toyota 4Runner. Always has been a great vehicle from the Toyota line. The auto tranny shifts very smooth and so far no major mechanical problems at all. Regular maintenance and small items expected to go wrong. Overall, a fun vehicle and a good strong engine. I wish it were 4-wheel drive, but still a great car/truck.

Pros: Very smooth driver

Cons: 6cyl SUV not good on gas

1999 Toyota 4runner 4wd Limited — This is a very reliable family vehicle. Gas mileage is good considering it is an older SUV. Runs well but has some squeaks and rattles from being an older vehicle. Have not taken it off road yet bit I want to. Lots of leg room but not so much in the head room area.

Pros: great on gas and very reliable

Cons: not much head room

1999 Toyota 4runner 2wd 4cylinder — the car accelerates good and the brakin is really good the handling could be a little better. i have had it 8 months and its been great hasn't needed any repairs. appearence whise it is alot smaller inside than it looks. to the exterior some of my friends with 4runners say it looks better without the runnin boards but i personally think they make it look more sporty. i have a 4 cylinder in mine and everybody thinks they great on gas. ya its good on gas but i think it could be better. maintenance on it is not expensive really. over all great car i definately would recomend it.

Pros: they go almost anywhere offroad

Cons: they are small inside

Great Vehicle — I'm a Toyota guy. I've owned lots of makes and models of cars, but nothing has been as reliable as my Toyotas. The 4Runner is no exception. It has over 150,000 miles and still performs like a new one. It's a great vehicle.

Pros: Dependable, comfortable, powerful and roomy - looks sharp

Cons: Not as good mpg as my Camry, but not bad for an SUV, I average around 22-24 mpg.
