Subaru — Roomy, Compact, AWD, Hood scoop (not functional though), Spoiler(might be functional), Gold Wheels, and it was $5,000. Seats go down in the back 60/40, Boxer rumble, the engine compartment is logically laid out and easy to replace parts yourself.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: AWD

Cons: Didn't get a turbo

My First Car... — I had to replace the brakes, but the mileage was great, it performed excellent - especially in Montana weather, and I hated to sell it. It was a sturdy little car to drive! It only cost about $5,000, but it only had 105,000 miles on it, so I think it was fair.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It took me everywhere!

Cons: It wasnt exactly the best to look at

Smart Buy — Great allrounder and great for torque in traffic. performace, build quality, appearance is ace, cost is minimal, fun is the icing on the cake. If over 10 years old - 2.5 left hand head gasket always need to be replaced. Only thing wrong.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: awd

Cons: fear of torque

Nice Babe Ride — Nice ride! solid on the road, takes corners easy. Take off powerful, but be careful she has bite! Excellent on long journeys, an easy ride. Tears up and down hills no problem, no fear of stalling. All in all a brilliant 'lil car for me!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: automatic, excellent in heavy traffic

Cons: nothing bad about car in my opinion

Poor Mans M5 — Impreza performance (nearly) with out the Impreza . Strange twin turbo set up takes a little getting used to. Impreza running gear better ride. Nice sleeper car will stay with most cars off the line and all over them in the corners.

Pros: Twin turbo boxer engine

Cons: nono

My Subaru Sus — It's not nearly as sporty enough for my taste. It's a 4 cyl., so it's good on gas, but does not have enough pick up. Definitely looks like a college student's car, Stockton stickers included. It's a cute little car though and Subarus are very reliable. It's a fun car for a teenager but factory stereo was a must-replace.

Pros: stylish, good on gas, it's a subaru :)

Cons: not a 6 cyl, cloth interior collects dirt

Best Mixture Of Performance And Practicality I Have Seen Yet. — The outback is great. The 2.5 L engine is relatively easy to repair despite the boxer orientation of the cylinders. It handles very well with the All Wheel Drive and manual transmission.

Pros: Lots of room, fun to drive, AWD, manual tranny, powerful, glued to the
road.

Cons: Mirrors are a but small, fuel efficiency not as great as I would like.

Schweet — 25 mpg and 165 hp stock, braking is instant and the frame is pretty tough. Only real problem is the USDM engine doesn't come with a turbo.

Pros: Decent acceleration and braking power stock. Good mileage without sacrificing performance, and a good amount of standard options. The stock wheels are pretty cool, and the trunk is a gigantic 11cubic feet. There are hundreds of upgrades for this car if you know where to look because 70% of parts are compatible with other subarus (like the impreza). AWD means you can drive this thing in snow, and don't turn your nose up at it, it does better than most 4WD trucks due to the low center of gravity (harder to lose control when sliding).  I put a cold air and exhaust on mine and its really fun to drive people around in.  Stock system is 4 speaker component with 2 tweeters up front, there are also mounting spaces for speakers in the rear doors and one in the rear deck.  Essentially if you want to modify your car this is THE car to modify.  Or not.

Cons: Stock air cleaner is really restrictive, automatic transmission is for the fail, and you have more fluids to change because of the AWD.  If you plan to do major engine upgrades you have to swap out with expensive STi engine parts and that lowers compression so a turbo becomes mandatory, and if you have the 4auto it might 'splode dude to the boost. The thing rattles in random areas...
