Great For A First Car And Anybody Wanting To Carry Out Their Own Repairs — A great little car for when you're young because its relatively cheap to run and low performance, which means less speeding fines. The acceleration and performance up hills is poor, but has sufficient performance for regualar everyday driving. Need to look out for rust on wheel arches (i lost my previous felicia to it). Very spacious car and comfortable. MPG can reach around 35 and some owners can easily get 40+.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun, cheap car

Cons: Rust and low performance on hills

Nice Easy Car To Drive, Good For Carrying Basic Loads — performance- the car is generally quite slow and is much more fun to drive that way. the cars braking and handling are that of expected of a family hatchback build quality- build quality is brilliant. its designed by vw its bound to be appearance- the styling is slightly the same as the polo, same steering wheel seats, and gearknob, but it is really comfy. the exterier is a bit behind the times for its year cost of ownership- cheap to run and easy to maintain funfactor- hell yeah. its a cruzing car

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: practical and easy to drive to the speed limit. has a lot of luxerys

Cons: if you like sports cars this is not for you

Good Runner — Pretty well built, safe and sturdy. Economical with fuel and cheap to run. Does well on motorways once it's up to spped but takes time getting there...Downside: Ugly, sluggish, not goot off the mark and no fun. Brakes well mind....

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Well made

Cons: Ugly and sluggish

Convert From Old Skoda Stereotype — 1.6 Quick in upper gears, bodywork suffering from age unlike VW cousins, lots of issues with tracking on front tyres, cheap to run though burns petrol above 3000 revs, cheapish to run, quick enough on occasion to give some of the gary boys a little shock

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Reliability of engine

Cons: Bodywork

1999 Skoda Felicia 1.3 Lxi —

I bought my Felicia for less than 400 pounds with 62000 miles on the odometer, which was a steal, The interior is quite basic, when I bought it it had a standard Grundig radio/cassette, a pretty good heater but when its hot the blower ain't brilliant, a bit too noisy,The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of room in the front and back of the car for 6 footers and the boot is cavernous. It has drivers airbag. Its 1.3 engine was first used in the previous Favorit and is a bit noisy at high revs but pulls cleanly, although it has overhead cams so sounds like a sewing machine when idling. The front suspension is cross braced between the suspension heads and stiffens the body so roll is lessened, You really have to overcook it to induce understeer on it.The handling on the whole is really good. It can hold its own on the motorway with a good top speed of 105mph for the engine size although it has to be flogged after about 85 to 90 mph. Parts and servicing is really cheap but nothing goes on it. all I have done to mine is replace the alternator. For those on a budget the Felicia returns 500 miles for a 35 quid tank of petrol (at 2008 prices). Exterior styling is quite attractive but the badge is the only real down side to the car as it attracts the old Skoda jokes and if you are trying to maintain an "image" then it probably isn't for you, but for a cheap and surprisingly high quality way of getting around then you can't go wrong with a Skoda Felicia.

Pros: Spacious and comfortable interior, Nice looking car, Excellent build quality, cheap spares and servicing, large boot, bulletproof engine, cheap to buy in good condition.

Cons: Badge "snobbery" directed against it, Noisy blower fan, noisy engine at high revs (but not horrendous by any stretch). light interior is hard work to keep clean.

Usable Work Car — Usable work car, since its Skoda its a cheapish car, but i would go with a WV caddy instead

Pros: The pickuppart is customizable

Cons: Not very good good looking, the performance cant be used as a con as its not a performance car really
