Speed Demon — Build Quality: Holding up great...never left me stranded... good running car and getting better Car Comparisons: I was wanting a mustang real bad. I got the eclipse cuz it was in good shape and a good deal. And its something i have not built yet. Performance: this car handles like a dream and is pretty quick for mostly stock. More Ab |

Great Looking Car, But No Performance To Match — had a 2.SLOW for a motor. The engine code was 420a, which means it was primarily a dodge engine. This engine was shared by the Mits Eclipse GS/RS, Eagle Talon ESI, Dodge Intrepid, Dodge Neon. So, all very slow cars. Performance: very slow, handling sucked until i lowered it, braking sucks, acceleration...really sucks. Build Quality: every car need repairs Appearance: Both interior and exterior were very appealing Gas Mileage: amazing when it was stock Fun factor: Twisty roads and high speeds Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Low budget project car. good starter car and good show car Cons: If ur looking for performance, then dont buy this. |

Great Car — This car is very fun to drive, also very reliable never had problems with it in a hard Midwest winter or hot summer...If you want a gas saver with a decent power/reliability/stability and everything else this car is a way to go. I drove it thru half the Country without a problem! I also had a 2003 Eclipse GT 5 spd and i kind of like this generation better when it comes to look and handling. Also if getting these cars make sure you get a manual trans, because automatic is not even close to being fun as 5 speed in these cars, transmission in automatic is not very reliable and also it leaks performance wise...so manual is the way to go in the Eclipses :-)) Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Very fun to drive and reliable Cons: I don't have any, the car is perfect for any ocassion |

Great Toy. — I love how it handles.Breaks aren't touchy and it picks up quick. Easy to shift. It's an easy to drive 5 speed with the gears the perfect spacing. Super sharp looking, candy red. Great on gas and easy to maintain. It's great in snow for such a small car. Just a fun car to drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: IT"S FUN TO DRIVE!! Cons: If you have a more than one person with you, back seat is small. |

Best Thing Ever Done Was Trade It In — My 1999 Eclipse was white and an automatic. While the performance was decent it lacked the thrill that comes with a standard transmission. And at less than 50,000 miles it began having transmission problems. Which then i traded forthat hot red 2003 GS model w/ a 5 spd. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Decent power and great gas milage. 1st car that i actually picked out. Cons: mechanical issues ,wasn't turbocharged |

1999 Ecipse Gsx — what i like about my car is it is awd and hs a urbo. Performace is pretty good or a four cylinder car. It could use a bigger turbo and a couple moreperformance upgrades that i want to get for it. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: real quick Cons: needs new tranny and bigger turbo |

Being my first manual transmission i am really happy about how easy it is to drive. it has a good acceleration rate and it only costs me fifty bucks every two weeks to drive. With cold air intake and an amped up exhaust it definiteley turns heads. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: its a sporty little speedster Cons: not enough room in the back seat to do certain things :) lol |

Awesome, Fun, And Affordable. With A Great Aftermarket. — I like the ability to easily add a lot of power to the car with simple bolt on parts. I still have a completely stock engine and just from upgrading parts I have over 300 AWHP and 320 lb-ft of torque. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: One of the cheapest ways to get great handling and power. Cons: It takes a good amount of work to keep it running once pushing the limits. |
