1999 Honda Accord 4 Door Lx — Quality - no problems with the car. bought it at 50000 miles, it has 100000 miles now with no issues. The stock hubcaps and steel wheels were cheap and generic looking. So aftermarket wheels make it much more unique. Only bad thing is automatic door locks are not working well now (9 year old car though). The car is fairly economical and can still hold the whole family. I am pretty happy with it and would definitely recommend to friends.

    Pros: Honda Quality

Cons: automatic door locks don't work now (after 9 years though)

It's Honda Or It's Not! — It's a well built and it lasts forever, doesn't compromises the ride quality even after many years down the road assuming you take care of it. It will reward you with its loyalty and more than pleasant times spent behind the wheel =)

    Pros: All

Cons: Some noise transfering from tires (rough pavement etc.)

A Beautiful Beast With Burdens. — This is the best car I've had the pleasure to own, not that I've had an illustrious history of car ownership. Let's start with the driving, it's no Lotus but it will hustle around those corners and hold its line without much drama. The suspension is a touch too soft for real hard driving even though it is stiffer and lower down than the standard four door model. It also doesn't help that none of the V6 models came with a manual transmission (The automatic is pretty supple and obedient). The V6 which is rated at 200 horsepower pulls strong, even at lower revs but really hits its stride above the VTEC line of about three and a half thousand rpm. It's a bit of a lazy and subdued engine but if you listen closely there is a pretty good howl at 4 thousand rpm. Braking power is provided by four disk brakes, which work very linearly but are about as mushy as oatmeal. (6.7/10) Honda's build quality has never been suspect and the Honda Accord really shows it. Everything on the car still works well, none of the materials have become cracked or worn (except for the driver's seat leather). The only problem with the car has been a warped front rotor, which was a pretty easy to repair problem. Other than routine replacements the car has been a doll. (8/10) She's a beauty, probably the best looking car Honda has made save the S2000. And they had to go ahead and ruin it with the ugliest ass this side of the Pontiac Aztek (ok maybe it's not that bad). The rear spoiler on my EX model helps mask the horror but it is an atrocious mess of an odd angle, shape and look. Honda could have had something really special had they patched the gorgeous front end of this car to the handsome back end of that year's Prelude. Between the performance and styling of the Accord Coupe, the Prelude was destined to die out anyway. It is a pretty good combination of grace and style. (7/10) From a practical standpoint the Accord Coupe loses out pretty badly to its four door brethren. Comfort level is high but rear legroom is only good if you are a child of two. Getting in and out of the rear seats is just as awkward. Trunk space is adequate but nothing more. As for gas mileage, it is average. 22 in town and 30+ on the highway was observed, not bad for a 3 liter V6 from yesteryear. (6/10) Above all else, it's a cruiser. It's a little heavy and large to really enjoy on the very technical corners but in the sweeping bends it is a pleasure. Very easy to find a line and hold it. The steering is tight and nicely weighted, when it can keep up. The grip is great with the inherent understeer rearing its head in a very predictable manner. (7/10) I don't think I would recommend this car to a friend, it looks pretty good and it is very well equipped (automatic climate control, leather, premium sound, etc.) and the performance is there. But there are several other cars that can do a better job in all the specific areas this one strives for. It isn't powerful or hard enough to really be considered a performance car, it is also not economical or practical for regular use. And if it were really trying for the cruiser crown, lady Honda would need to take off her top. (Then again, given the choice, I'd take the kinky topless S2000 any day).

Pros: Well made, drives well, comfortable

Cons: Steering is too slow, ugly rear end, V6 only comes in Auto, not practical.

A Really Reliable Car — Well this is a great car i have only had a few problems since i've had it but they were all fixed really quickly. for example the trunk latch was broken and had to be replaced. Also i have had to replace the timing belt and get the air conditioner fixed, but overall it is a really good car. It does seem to slide around on the ice a bit and can have a hard time getting out of the snow. Finally it has excellent gas mileage.

Pros: good gas mileage, few problems at all

Cons: dont really know i got it used and the problems could have been caused from a number of things

Great Car — This is my wife's car. We have always loved it. It is a 4 cylinder, but it has enough giddy up to get you where you need to be. We have kept up with the usual routine maintenance, and are very pleased. It has been a relatively inexpensive car to own. The gas mileage is very reasonable and is very dependable.

Pros: good gas mileage, comfortable, dependable, stylish

    Cons: None to speak of.

1999 Honda Accord Coupe - Fun, Reliable, Affordable — This was my second Accord Coupe, so that should tell you something right off the bat. I loved the look of this car from the day it came out, and think it still looks pretty good for being 10 years old. It's the V6, so it makes about 200 HP. It's a fun and sporty drive, but not high performance by any stretch. Still, for being pretty sporty it gets about 30 mpg on the highway, and 23-24 mpg around town, if I behave and don't stomp on it too much. A couple of negatives for the car: The power windows seem to be weak. I have had two driver's side failures and one passenger side. At $600 a pop to fix, that gets old pretty fast. The other issue is that the clearcoat on the roof of the car is failing. Estimate from the paint shop is about $1000 to fix. I have put 130,000 miles on this car in 10 years. I put 160,000 on my first Accord, a 1989 coupe. If you are looking for an affordable, fun to drive, dependable automobile, you can do no better than the cars of Honda.

Pros: Fun to drive. Good Mileage. Still looks good after 10 years.

Cons: Paint Issues. Power window failures.

Honda Accord Review — 200hp on this car is nioce, just enough to handle and just enough to beat them civics and such. The automatic transmission is pretty much the only problem with this car... But this car is a blast to drive. The car looks freaking amazing, but I'd go for the 01-02 year model, because the front bumper looks a lot more sexy.

Pros: The looks, the power, the fun

    Cons: Automatic Transmission

Wife's Car — This is actually my wife's car, but oh well. This car has been great to her and me and I hope to have this car for many years to come. It is a little sluggish on steep hills, but then again so are most four cylinders. I have had it up to 135 mph and it handles like a dream. Gets great gas mileage and is comfortable to drive/ride in.

    Pros: Reliable, minimal repairs

Cons: cruise control shifts out of overddrive way too soon

Basic Is Good... — 31+ mpg. The manual states a 7500 mile service interval but I change oil every 5000. Simple to replace headlights and taillights, not so simple to replace turn signal lights. Smooth and forgiving 5-speed manual transmission. Good build quality -- no rattles; a small squeak in the driver's seat; easy to dent and tear body panels and bumpers; solid "thump" when you close the doors. Exterior styling is a bit bland but not dated. Wish a more luxurious interior was available when I bought the car, but the ergonomics are good. Easy to drive, easy to park.

Pros: Good gas mileage. Inexpensive maintenance. Good ergonomics. Reliable transportation.

Cons: Easy to dent. More basic than luxurious.

$$$ — All I was told by friends is that it made them think about sex... The little four banger was tweaked and sounded like an SCCA race car. With all the suspension mods (tokiko all around) the car felt like a Mini Cooper. For an automatic tranny, you could easily launch from neutral at 4000 rpm and not hear a single gring or bang. Great car!

Pros: Excellent base car to start mods. High reving VTEC 2.3 lt inline 4 (the V6 is too nose heavy). Full exhaust from header to tail pipes. 4-2-1 header and 2 1/4" stainless exhaust. Custom fabricated cool air intake tube. Dropped it 1 1/4" front and 1 1/2" rear. Handled like a slot car. Strut tower braces and swaybar bushings.

Cons: It was black (showed every blemish), automatic tranny.
