Fantastic Car To Own —

Performance - It lacked power until i put some work into it, but then again the Commodore was designed to be a family car, not a sports car Build Quality - It was made well, quiet comfy drive and no interior noise, nothing ever went wrong on it, extremely reliable even when i would flog the thing on a daily basis haha Appearance - The car looked stunning with the Angel Eye Headlights and the rims. It got complements everywhere i took it, truly a one of a kind Commodore. Many of the Commodores you see are battered and damaged, this doesn't have a scratch, waxed and polished every single weekend. And a killer sound system capable of opening servo revolving doors with vibrations whilst sitting at the fuel pump! Cost of Ownership: As stated before, never had to pay for any repairs except the clutch as expected, which i upgraded to a heavy duty cussion button. It never had to have replacement parts, just your regular servicing Fun Factor: Its fun to drive because of what i've made it. I love the fact you know people are staring because it looks so clean, it makes being a car enthueiest and doing up a car how you wish so much worth it. Power wise lets be honest, not too scary. I have owned a 350rwkw Skyline, i've driven F6 Typhooons, R8 Clubby's, VE SS, nothing scares me, especially a naturally aspirated V6 but if i wanted a fast car, i'd buy one of those

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: I love every single factor of this car - Simple

Cons: Just wish it had more power without breaking the bank on forced induction and full ground up engine rebuilds

Alright Car, When Fuel Prices Come Back Down Haha, Can Think Of Many Suitable Alternatives — I have owned mt berlina for 4 years, bougth it second hand with 136000kms on it, had a power steering pump leak but that was fixed, but not cheap, The electrics in them are utter crap, the climate control unit played up, all the electric windows played up and dash lights also play up, The transmission is quite juggly now, wont change down, started about 10000kms ago, but if you manually change down(auto trans) it doesnt do it. It handles alright, not too good at quite high speeds, sits on the road very nicely in a straight line, handles well on gravel, not a lot of road noise. Great acceleration and top end. Huge boot and plenty of room in the back. Has poor economy on short trips, anything under 50 kms or round town, even if you drive it nicely. Looks quite good, though its no audi r8. The back seat pockets are quite flimsy but everything else is built aussie tough. Mainly driven to and from work, and going up central on holiday

Pros: Plenty Of room, big boot, lots of power

Cons: Poor economy on short trips, poor electrics, average handling

My Commodore — It is a very comfy car, runs well considering the age and the distance I have travelled. Maintenance is importance to get longetivity out of motor and suspension. The suspension could have been stronger considering it is a wagon but I can live with that

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Nothing awesome just a good travelling car

Cons: Changing O2 sensors

Jazzehhh. — I definitely do not want to part with this car. I love this car regardless of what anyone says and the crap it puts me through. Generally good on acceleration. Around $60- $70 a week on petrol. I love the look of it, although with a bit more detail it'll be perfect. Interior is very clean and tidy. Fun car to drive.

Pros: Running over Corolla's.

Cons: If you own a Corolla.

Best First Car. — It's completely stock, my brake's squeak and scrap going over bumps, needs new seals, there's some form of chain rattle, + customization coming soon, yet I still get checked out? $60 per week on petrol, fun-factor: 6/10. Why isn't this letting me save, I've clearly written well over 40 words. SAVE FFS

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Good for running over Corolla's.

Cons: If you drive a Corolla.

Good Value Family Car With A Bit Of Fun Thrown In — Performance - engine is grunty - lot's of torque, but get harsh when revved and the gearbox is a bity dozy Build Quality - feels solid and heavy, however trim squeaks and creaks let it down Appearance - love the smooth shape, still looks good after 10 years. Might need to polish it though... :-) Cost of Ownership - parts are cheap, but not had any major issues recently. A bit thirsty, but it is a 3.8L! Fun Factor - it's a big grunty car with rear-drive - need I say more?

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Space, long distance comfort, simplicity (to work on)

Cons: Build quality, questionable electrics reliability

I Love It — Its a good car, love that its a ute. There is only one problem... its an automatic. BUGGA. i have put a little bit of money into it with new lowered springs and a good sound system that will inprove when i get a hard cover for the tray so i can get my subs

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: good drive quality

Cons: very touchy in the wet

Love It. — VS Commodore Ute 3.8L V6, stock power 147kW rear wheel drive. Decent amount of power for a first car but you'll get used to it too quickly. It has a dual mass flywheel so when replacing the clutch it can be quite expensive as you often need to replace the flywheel with a single mass at the same time. Look horn from outside but its an acquired taste, inside is not bad but could be better. When new these did 10.5L/100km which is rather impressive, they are easy to maintain, very strong motor will take a beating. Fun factor is through the roof, its very tail happy as there is hardly any weight over the rear wheels, can be very fun but also a bit unpredictable in the wet, on gravel it will get sideways with almost no effort. Love to drive it!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Does good skids

Cons: Most people buy them to have a bit of fun so you might pick up one that's on its last legs.

If Your Planning On Getting A Vt Ss Buy A Series One With The 5 Litre...... — I had heaps of fun with this car. Lots of bottom end power & a beautiful sounding V8. Handled well for a cast-iron block too. Not as fast as an LS1 but harder to kill and much better sounding. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Lots of fun, beautiful sound, plenty of torque & power.

Cons: Likes a drink, driveline is weak.

Would Be A Great Car If They Built It With A Lsd — The supercharger is a thumbs up! with a brake upgrade it stops really well. For a large car it is very nimble on the narrow twisty country roads. S pack with supercharger is the go for after market bolt on parts.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great fuel to power ratio

Cons: wear on inside of rear tyres
