It Serves It's Pupose — The older Taurus is a good car for a high school kid or a college student. It has that Ford durability and it is like a tank with out a turret in terms of safety. It may look like a giant oval but when your just starting out with limited finances, choose durability and this generation Taurus has that.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Durability

Cons: Average MPG

1999 Ford Taurus — Performance - Was pretty much average. The V6 pulled strong and got decent gas mileage. Build Quality - One of the reasons the Big Three are in so much trouble today was because of poor build qualtiy and the Taurus was no exception. Appearance - Could be better styled in my opinion but O.K overall Cost of Ownership - As mentioned above.....could have been a lot better.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Decent Gas Mileage, Roomy Interior, Strong Engine

Cons: Frequent Repairs, Poor Interior Quality

Taurus — acceleration is good compared to the basic 3.0 ohv V6... handling is quite better as well. It is a taurus, so you dont have to fix anything... ever. although some of the interior is starting to rattle from my system... Appearance is lame... round everything but i deal with it. cost of ownership is very low and its fun to drive so get one.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: fast, leather, sunroof, good mpg

Cons: its a taurus so everyone has one.

The Unexpected Power House — If you have the 24v engine, the performance is amazing. It produces 200hp which I had never expected from a 4 door sedan. It has a few issues with the power locks and windows that is annoying. Also the body is down right ugly but it is at least aerodynamic. The trany is has a lot of drag because it does not cost well at all. Its mileage is lower than expected when my dad's impala which has a larger engine and gets 30 mpg and this car only gets low 20's. I believed that is caused by the trany and not the engine. over all it is not a bad car and again, it is a lot of power.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: powerful

Cons: ugly and poor mpg

1999 Ford Taurus Se Wagon — just like my wagon only red, same performance and handling, a great overall cruiser, this thing goes like a bat outta hell, very cheap to run, very fun to drive, can be driven hard with confidence, very reliable even if pushed to the limit continuously

Pros: cheap haulage

Cons: wont pick up chicks

Sho Time — Can only find limited parts, and its hard to work on, comfy and suprisingly quick for its size. Good interior, leather seats and a good sound system, although its too football shaped exterior. Gas mileage is awesome at 29 hwy, 24 city

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: quick, its a sleeper

Cons: finding parts

Overall A Great, Reliable Car! I Recommend It For Those Who Need A Car For School/work/family. — This car is very comfortable to drive. She is smooth, runs smoothly, and is reliable. The thing I don't like is sometimes if you disconnect the battery then it forgets and relearns and it'll lurch badly when going from lowest gear to next up. But it corrects easily after awhile. I also don't drive it enough so I kinda lose battery power every 2 - 3 months. (She has a new alternator). She looks nice, and the curved look is areodynamic. She's also really good on gas too! The brakes do squeel when stepped on but the mechanic said they'll do that but nothing's wrong with the brakes. All in all, even with the little things aside, I still love my car! And the stock radio with bass boost really has great quality sound!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Reliable, good on gas, great ride

Cons: Not for infrequent drivers

1999 Ford Taurus — * Performance - handles well for a big four door, heavy roll in the corners and gets loose in the ass during tight maneuvers. * Build Quality - 198,000 and runs strong. It leaks just a little bit of oil but a gasket change would fix that. * Appearance -It looks like a white bloated pregnant Koi fish, but its clean and the interior is good. * Cost of Ownership - Gets about 30 miles per gallon from a 3.0 V6 * Fun Factor -Its a commuter car, not alot of fun but its dependable.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Descent gas mileage, dependable

Cons: None

99 Taurus — with the 24 valve dura tech it hauls ass pretty good, nice handling car too, but it is a grampa car, cheap on gas & hasn't had to many mechanical failures, except for a broken strut spring that was driver induced

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: decent running motor

Cons: gramp looks
