Rover 414i — Third Company car Rover 414i. Build quality, performance and ecomony all pretty good... this has probably more to do with the Honda tie up and BMW ownership at the time! The styling inside tried to be typically English but instead was typically pensioner!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Build quality, performance

Cons: UK Pensioner interior styling

Rover 414si — Performance- Quick for an old farts car. Build quality typical rover but i never had any probs with it.. Cheap to run and keep.. Really good to drive especially round country lanes... PPl took the p*ss at it being a rover and not a nova or escort etc etc but now lots of ppl driving them..

Pros: Handling, performance cheap to run

Cons: Lack of GTI...

Avoid — Bought for the engine, best part of the vehicle, and that required 'tweaking'. Car's got rust, sill's rotting away, rear arches showing rust and it's only 11yrs old, I've had cars of over 20yrs old in better condition. I bought the 2 litre TD version, easy to get a few extra hp out of and the rear seats fold down which is a bonus on a saloon.

Pros: Fuel Economy

Cons: Rust / build quality

Rover 400 Saloon — shame i crashed it. now in the grave yard. but overall quick off the mark and good top end speed for a saloon car with a tow bar. very heavy on petrol, and excellent to drive on the motorway, but was heavy on fuel around town. oh, and for 800 quid i got a lot of car for my money.

Pros: nice car

Cons: it was blue

Rover Shitter — Good reliable first car as long as head gasket has been replaced and head skimmed. Produces 103bhp from new, and considering most 1.4's only manage approx 75bhp thats some achievement. Handling is good when rolling on 17 inch low profile 205/40 alloys with a half decent set of tyres. 0-60 comes in approx 11secs when standard.

Pros: Good 1st car, practical, relitavely quick(compared 2 friends first cars), reliable.

Cons: Mines multicoloured, poor traction with standard alloys, noisey cabin.
