1998 Pontiac Grand Prix 4 Dr SE SedanReview

Ok Power But Not All That Dependable — Have had to replace transmission, wheel bearings, and the intake valve gasket. Have heard the gasket is the worst gasket to put in a car and will probably go out again any day now. The power windows have been failing. And well all in all I do not really like the car. But it has been getting me from point A to point B for three years now. Only been out of work for a month total.
Pros:
Nice pick up and ok top speed. Pretty good space for passengers, and Cons: Like I said in the review the gasket is bad, and the transmission as well. |

My First Car!!! — I've got the GTP with all the options: Sun/moonroof, Leather, Heated driver seat, and 240 HP Supercharged V6. I'm really happy with it and have had it for over a year. Appearance is 4/5 because of a wreck i got into last June. but it took the damage well. very pleased to be driving it again! Pros: Supercharged Power! Heated Leather (for the winter months), Sunroof, carries 4 (5 if desperate) and plenty of goodies (snowboards and gear). Cons: Premium Gasoline @ $4.25/Gal!!!! |

My First Car; Dependible And Fun To Drive. — This is my first car. It has a leather interior, two subwoofers, and plenty of conveniences. It has good handling, acceleration, and with a 3.8 L. V6 engine it not lacking needed power. I purchased this car used a couple of years ago with 80,000 miles on it; It now has 100,000 miles on it and it has never been in the shop (except for inspection). This car is a lot of fun to drive. Pros: Powerful (3.8 L.V6), decent gas mileage, and fun to drive.
Cons:
I would have liked to have a V8 engine in her. |

Almost 200,000 Miles On It And It's Still Running Like A Champ — and to think I bought it 4 yrs ago with less then 100,000... I <3 my grand prix...its fast, its solid, and i've had little problem with it Pros: Great 3.8 II supercharged engine Cons: lots of exterior issues with this model (97-03) like condensation in the head lights and tail lights-- but if you can get past that, this car is awesome! |

Nice Styling, Decent Power — I have a love-hate relationship with this car. While I like the way it looks and drives, the reliability leaves a lot to desire. I do drive my vehicles hard, however, two busted engines over 160,000 miles are a bit much (Cracked block on the first one at 88,000 miles, Second engine threw pistons/rods through the oil pan at 72,000 miles). A nice car with good power and decent build quality (other than the engine...), but with the same shortcomings as any other front wheel drive car: Lots and lots of torque steer. Can be a lot of fun when it works, somewhat expensive to fix when things break. Pros: Looks nice, rides nice, decent handling. Cons: Horrendous reliability. |

Good All Around Car And Good Power With Some Easy Mods. — I have had this car for 3 years and love it. the only mecanical problems i have had are a bad starter and a hole in the original exhaust. and it has 145k. with the mods it has it puts down 280 whp and 350 ftlb of torque. haven't been to the track in forever but it's fun. Pros: holds 5+ people.really scary supercharger whine at WOT, big trunk even with sub in it. Cons: bad MPG but thats cuz it has the lead foot mod. |

Balls — This one was owned by a technician at my old job, he put a racing chip in it which added like 30 more horse to an already supercharged V6 engine. It was crazy fast, but even though it was fast and gorgeous it was a little to old for my liking i had to trade her in :( Pros: Fast, beautiful Cons: old, took premium gas |

This Is The Best Used Car I've Ever Owned!!! — I bought this car October 2006 and it's been a dream. I bought it used, it had 155K miles on it. 8 months later I got to drop $2,200 into getting a brand new engine put in, but it was well worth it. The exterior has a few scratches, but it's been amazing. Joseph loves to go for rides in it, he even demands to at times. He likes to sit and have me turn the music up so he can feel the vibration from the standard speakers in his car seat... it's awesome! Pros: Reliable, fun to drive, handles very smoothly, great on gas Cons: can't really think of any... |
