Love The Car. — I love the pop up display on it where it shows how fast you are going it looks really sweet. I get about 22 to 24 mpgs. It has awesome acceleration I really havent maxed it out but it should go 120 or so pretty easily. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Nice rims, great acceleration. Cons: Passenger window on my car doesnt work. |

What A Blast Of A Car! — Four door car with a supercharger. Not a sports car but it will easily take you across a state at 100mph plus or launch you onto the interstate pinning your back against the seat. Lots of fun decent gas mileage if you can stay off the throttle Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Fun fast decent looks Cons: superchargers can be expensive to maintain cheap interior speeding tickets |

Fun Reliable Car — I owned the Grand Prix for about 3 months. It was apretty quick car being supercharged an all. The only thing I had trouble with on the car was the rims. They started to get corrosion between the rim and tires and made my tires go flat often. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Performance/Features Cons: Rims |

Great Car — Performance: Great acceleration, braking. Poor Handling. Absolutely requires GMPP handling upgrade. Great build, holds up to rear end collisions with minimal damage. With a light foot, it gets great mileage. It is an utter blast to drive, especially near redline and full boost. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Engine, Strength Cons: Appearance |

Great Car, Very Trustworthy, Comfortable, Not The Fastest Car On The Road Though. — Performance - Top Speed/Acceleration: Moderate (What can you expect from a V6?) Braking: Good Handling: Good Build Quality - Overall: Perfect, no major maintenance needed in its entire life. Dash: Too many gaps for my taste. Appearance - Exterior: Styling unique to Pontiac. Looks sporty and comfortable to drive at the same time. Interior: Perfect, everyone remarks how comfortable the leather interior is. Cost of Ownership - City MPG: 16 Highway MPG: 22 Maintenance: Only minor maintenance costs. Fun Factor - This car is a dream to drive. The heads up display ensures your eyes are on the road at all times. Not as nimble as a two door, but what can you do? Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Heads Up Display, Unique Pontiac Features/Quality Cons: Lacks the power of a V8. |

Its A Good Sturdy Car — God it was the best car ever. Had the 3800 V6 in it which lasted 212000 miles without a problem and would've kept going forever. I would like to still be driving the Grand Prix but unfortunately that wasn't gonna happen. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Nice throttle reaction Cons: snow plows |

Gets Me From A To B — Not a bad car all in all. Could have better gas mileage. But do-able. Take what you got, right? Takes awhile to start in the summers. Had the car 3 years and has 232,500 miles on it so I hope it runs for a little while longer until I can afford something else. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Motor lasts forever Cons: It doesn't like summers |

1998 Pontiac Grand Prix Se — Performance-wise, you cannot beat the Grand Prix SE. The Wide-Track footprint makes for great stability at high speeds, and the throttle and braking systems are firm but responsive. The automatic trans does put a damper on it in racing, and its acceleration is medium, but for long-distance cruising with the guys or the occasional adrenaline weekend, you cannot beat it. Like any old car, repairs are nessecary- high sway-bar stress leads to repairs after 70k miles, and the automatic trans is solid, but its Achilles heel is a pressure-control solonoid which governs shifting pressures- it dies out and leads to hard or jerky shifting during high acceleration. Bodywise, the major concern in early 98's is the running skirts- they are not drainable and collect water and road salt in northeastern climates, leading to major rust repair work after a few years of ignoring the problem. a second drainage problem arises by the gas cap, where a resevoir in the body can rust through to the outside (a small area appox. 3 inches square.) Once complete, however, the car has no other visible flaws. The styling is timeless, and it can hold its own against the new body styles of the day. Fun factor- tremendous. This car and I did 1600 miles in three days, with two street races and four people and gear, and came home still purring smoothly- no hangups, no hiccups, and enough room to stretch out. I prefer it over the new generation Grand Prix and and raising a glass to the fallen Pontiac. A solid '98 with a good transmission and rust-free rockers is worth its weight in gold. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Strong engine, styling, comfort, power, air conditioning Cons: Rust issues in NE climate (road salt), Pressure control solonoid in transmission |
