Ol' Red — The braking very good, not many repairs motor wise gas mileage is fairly good since it's from 1998 and it's just a good truck to drive. The handling is good but don't go around a curb going 60 or nothing like that. the acceleration is not the greatest but hey it's only a 290.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: The Stereo

Cons: the acceleration and speed limit

Ford Ranger Four Cylinder — This truck barely counts as a truck. It is slow with a four cylinder and rides way to low as a 2 wheel drive. However it does get decent gas mileage. it has held up pretty well considering its age and use. It is somewhat fun to drive

Pros: nice appearance and decent fuel economy

Cons: lack of power

1998 Ford Ranger — The fury of the 1998 Ford 3.0L engine is not to be overestimated. At full throttle, it sounds as if you're going 100 m.p.h. - however that is far from the truth. On the plus side, I can't seem to kill it.

Pros: Can't kill it.

Cons: Slow as molasses.

Good Truck — I had this truck for almost 5 years, it really was a great car. I hauled lots of really heavy things in it and it never let me down. Fuel milage was ok around 17mpg. Overall a well built machine.

Pros: Reliable and tough

Cons: Fuel economy, appearance?

'98 Ford Ranger Xlt 4x4 — For a Truck, the Ford Ranger has very good acceleration, especialy for stock. Braking was good, and Handling is rather nice. The build quality is bullet proof. Only things that it has problems with is the door sensor sucks. No squeeks, no rattles. When I drive it right, I could get about 20mpg, but fun driving gets you about 14. Mainenance is cheap, oil changes everytime youre supposed to is a good idea. Its a very fun truck to drive, it goes fast and stable at high speeds.

Pros: Solid truck, no engine problems, No transmission problems

Cons: Cheap Door sensor wont work

One Mean Little Ranger — Great truck, 35in tires, 4.56 gears, big V6 motor, lots of light output..lol. Brakes needed to be upgraded and a little more power under the hood would be nice. at this point, gas milage doesnt matter. so 13mpg its too bad.

Pros: its so capable for being a mid sized truck

Cons: costs of fixing what i break off road

Beautie Queen — It is a dependable truck. Not much in the power department. the 4wd is ok if your just in the snow or mud. But hit any rocks or climb any thing your likely to snap a half shaft. there isnt much interior room tho. the back window gave me some leaking problems. and the step side leaves you with almost no room in the bed. How ever it was good looking truck and was relatively tough it took a 4 foot pile of rooks, ditch, and mailbox at close to 45 miles an hour with just a couple of dents!!!

Pros: Can take a hit

Cons: No power

1998 Ford Ranger — This truck might be small but it is able to do almost any thing that a normal sized truck can, without the worry of gas prices. Currently I can get 28 to 29 miles per gallon. The truck has a 5 speed manual transmission with a 2.5L 4 cylinder motor. Although the truck doesn't have a great towing capacity it has no problem pulling a boat or other small trailer. Overall i am very pleased with the purchase.

Pros: Great gas mileage

Cons: Not the truck that you can pull everything with

98 Ranger — For reliability it was great..Only replaced a clutch. Performance is not good but then again it is a 4cyl 5speed. The apperance was great when I got it not so much anymore. I love driving this truck and the gas mileage it gets is very good for a pickup. It has squeaks and rattles now but then again it has 160,000 miles on it. I have owned it since 70,000 and have had to replace just a clutch.

Pros: Quality, Value, Reliability

Cons: Performance

My Ford Ranger — Needs some body work due to a deer It did need a new starter twice in six months time has been good tho since the 2nd time changing and there is a PFE sensor that wants to keep going bad it gets great mileage cannot complain about that this truck is very fun to drive I love standard trannys they are more economical and seem to last longer this truck is probably one of the best vehicles I have ever owned thanks Dad for selling me this truck :) definetly would recommend this truck to a friend

Pros: Very good on gas

Cons: sensors seem to go bad easily
