My 98gt — I love this car. It is heavily modified from where it was when I bought it. It is a full suspension car and has several performance modifications. Even with 4.10:1 gears in the rear end, it still gets 23mpg on the highway. Before I installed the longtubes, it was getting 28mpg!

Pros: Fast, stylish, great factory sound system, exhaust sounds great!

Cons: I can't go off road in it?

I Love My Car — I spent 2 years building this car a putting it back to its original condition. Overall I feel the work paid off. I am still improving the car though.

Pros: Great overall performance, excellent fuel milage for a V8 (28-31 MPG), comfortable, overall easy to drive

Cons: small back seat, worried about hurting the car (dent scratches etc.), only drive during summer and spring

My 9 Year Investment. — Ford Mustang GT, laser red, 1998. I had this car for 9 years and it probably shouldn't have lasted that long, it went through a lot, and no that doesn't mean it was in a wreck, I just drove the crap out of it. It was RWD, 8 cylinder, leather seats, mach 3 sound system, 5 prong rims. I should have made it fancier but I never had the money...

Pros: Speed, style, and performance.

Cons: Had to get new tires every six months, insurance was kinda high, didn't hold up as well after 5 years.

Runs, Drives And Looks Great. —

I bought the car with 70,000 miles and started using synthetic oil then. The car has 130,000 miles now and I think it runs better now than it did when I bought it. I have heard thar Ford discourages the use of synthetic oil but I have had great success with synthetic oil. The only problim I have had with the car is that the idle control solonoid had to be changed at about 115,000 miles. I get 22 MPG back and forth to work and 27 MPG on local highways, not 4 lanes, local state highways. The fartherest the car has been driven on a freeway at one time is about 5 miles. I try to keep my speed no more than 10 miles over the speed limit and most of the time with in 5 miles over. I have to be carefull on wet roads because the tires brake loose in secound gear if I accellerate to hard and the car gets sideways and scares a lot of people. I love it. I am at present looking for leather seats and a good leather wraped steering wheel. The leather was missing from the steering wheel when I bought the car. I am 64 years old and I may drive this car the rest of my life.

Owner for 4 years, 3 months

Miles Driven per Year:15,000

With A Few Mods This Is A Great Daily Driver. — Like so many other cars over the years this was neglected by its prior owners, pulleys, belts, tune ups, oil leaks, power rack, shocks struts were shot, ball joints and tie rod ends. Leather seats were cracked and split and the carpets were filthy.. After fixing / replacement of the above and a change of color the car became my daily driver. I friend let me drive his 94 GT for a day (we traded cars) and I was impressed at the differences.. I bought a 94 GT convertible to build. It is nearing completion now... I just sold the 98 to put the 94 on the road for shake down.. I will put up the 94 when it is completed.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Parts are cheap, loads of pull a parts for nothing.

Cons: Seats are some of the most uncomfortable I have experienced to date.
