Basically A Half-ton In A Slightly Smaller Package. — It's hard to argue with the torque this thing has, it'll keep pulling as long as your foot's in it. Rides a bit rough on account of the previous owner cranking the torsion bars to fit 33" tires, but with the look and added clearance, I got over it pretty quick.

Pros: V8 power with a standard trans, still turns good even with 33's

Cons: Can be thirsty under a heavy boot

Good Little Truck — it is a great looking, good running truck. i had no complaints except i would have liked an extended cab. it did have one problem with the way it ran but it would always get over it in a minute or two and it only happened once in a while.

Pros: looks good, felt good, i liked the size

Cons: if you want a big beefy truck...this aint it.

Tough Truck, Never Failed Me — Had this truck since new, 10 years! I loved it. Durable V8 engine, the last of the 318's (5.2L). Rock solid transmission. The interior was OK, but it had a lot of options, some even my 2007 Honda Accord EX-L V6 doesn't have. Smaller compact size outside, but it felt and pulled like a full-size. These trucks were over built, they shared many parts from the full-size Ram. Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with this truck.

Pros: Great looks, powerful, go anywhere, no problems.

Cons: Gas mileage...But what do you expect with a V8, 4X4 and 4500lbs?

Pros: Honestly i love everything about it

Cons: Except it is getting older and milled up

Best Midsized V8 Ever — Parents got this truck new in 98. Drove through highschool as main transport, still keep around as auxilary vehicle for 4x4, ATVs in the back, tow my jetboat, tow the horse trailer. Have the 5.2 liter v8. thats the older 318 ci block that has been around with MOPAR since the 70s. theres somthing to be said for tried and true engines and this is one of them.

Pros: 4x4, power accessories, midsize truck with full size v8

Cons: none

Gone But Not Forgotten — First off I got rid of all the pics of my actual truck bucause it got totalled (not by me) and I won't get into that story. I hate being reminded of it at all actually but I must try yo move on. This black truck in the pic is about the same thing but mine was 'hyper blue'. This truck was a highschool graduation present that lasted about 8 or 10 months before the incident. I was lucky to get anything over 11mpg's but god I loved that truck. With the posi 5.9L 360c.i. it was the quickest vehicle I ever owned (I think). Bought it with 75K wrecked at 79K. Its an emotional issue with me becuase I was in love with it. So thats all I'm gonna say.

Pros: Everything you could want in a sport pickup

Cons: Drank gas like you wouldn't believe.

98 Dakota A Reliable Truck — I bought my 98 Dakota Slt brand new in 1998. No major problems with the truck. The only bulbs I replaced are the driving lights. 125K now and not burning oil. This truck does not like performance parts. Keep it OEM and it will last

Owner for 9 years, 3 months

Miles Driven per Year:15,000
