Grocerybag — A good small Japanese sport car. 99,99% reliability! Handling is very sporty only bad thing is suspension, because its little too hard. Quite cheap spare parts. Alternative (better) Golf — My first car. It has a 1,6ltr engine, around 100hp. I bought it 2008 totally stock and tuned it through the years a bit (new sound system with around 700W RMS, new springs, optical tuning). I like this car, I always wanted to have a japanese car and not a boring german one.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Underlight kit, 17" Dotz rims

Cons: it get's old and has not much power (100hp)

Almera Gti 97 — bought for 900 quid with 60000 miles on the clock, fitted greenstuff pads and discs and spax springs, quite cheap insurance and petrol costs and it is as quick as anything for the same money handling is quite amazing for somethingi considered to be a 6 month banger 1 and half year later it's still going stong. i've spent abit of money on her BUT i hammer it every where so it's to be expected :-) all i can say is spend a grand and get a reliable 150bhp sports car that'll do 140 mph on the flat and when you knaker it buy another.

Pros: speed, handling, cost to buy, embaressing chavs in saxos.

Cons: looks dull, mine had dodgy electrics.

Good Car — Has the potent KA24DE engine. Rough to start modifying, but again, has potential. Most power in its class at time of production. The cost of ownership isn't too high - good on gas and low maintenance fees. Needs attention every now and then but runs solid for the most part. I think that it can be fun to drive if tuned correctly. I don't have it boosted, but if I did I would bet it would really be a fun little car.

Pros: Reliable, ample power, not terribly expensive to maintain

Cons: Doesn't look all that appealing with stock body panels

Sri Dull To Look At Better To Drive — 1.6 SRi Had for five years did nothing to it other than tyres & exhaust system. Drives & handles well enough, hey the kids wish I still have for comfort. Boot small. Lack of performance let down.

Pros: Reliablilty, MPG, space, handling

Cons: Lack of performance, by a GTi
