All Show And No Go. — After owning a Mustang GT and a Probe GTS, the Mitsubishi Eclipse GS (non-turbo FWD Automatic trans) feels like it's powered by a hamster on a wheel. A tired old hamster on a very heavy wheel. Only at full throttle does the Chrysler 2.0L feel like it has some motivation to move the speedometer needle. The engine is also relatively noisy and shakes a lot, compared to the Probe's V6, though many 4-cylinders do. I primarily drive this car to school, and in 100% city driving, this car struggles to get much better fuel economy than my 5.0L Mustang did. Although this car has the alloy wheels and rear disc brakes absent on the RS model, it still has a stiff brake pedal and stopping power is underwhelming. The interior looks and feels very cheap. The plastic door sill has a very uncomfortable armrest that is too low for my taste, and all the panels squeak and rattle with the shaking of the engine. The seats are not comfortable to sit in for any length of time, either. On the plus side I do like the way the car looks from the outside. The paint is a very nice shade of red, although it's collected a fair number of scratches over the years. The 16" 5-spoke wheels look nice too. The tinted windows help to keep the Florida sun out at least a little bit, and the power sunroof is nice (at least it has a shade).

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Looks good on the outside, Nice color, decent luggage space.

Cons: No power, slow-shifting ATX, poor braking, cheap interior, uncomfortbale seats, don't try to sit in the back.

A Cheap Good Performing Car With A Mean Look! — Quick acceleration, Turbo sound is the reward for shifting. Build Quality is not as neat and clean as those of Honda or Toyota. There is no other car out there that can trace what the 97-99 Eclipse had. The car is absolutely fun to drive.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Quick acceleration, good on mpg

Cons: Engine with a relative short life for a Japanese car

Ripper — I like the way the eclipse looks, and with some upgrades they are very fast. They also handle very well being low to the ground. It is very fun to drive wether you are cruising through town or flying down the strip.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It is fast and handles like it is on rails.

Cons: they tend to break when u build them.

Love It, Hate It, Be Addicted To It. — Welcome to the Sport Compact Revoluiton: Unlimited potential in four cylinders. The 4G63. I'm in a love-hate relationship with my cars. They have their problems, they find ways to annoy the hell out of me, and they cost me money. But, I can't sell them. They are too fun to drive, work on, and modify for power. No rice what so ever. Pure class that hauls ass.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Boost! And LOTS of it!

Cons: It's a DSM!

Its A Great Turbo Starter But Move On To Better Things After It. — Once built, its got a very reliable engine. Dont rely on the stock one because it will most likely let you down. The 2G body is awesome and is even sexier when left sleeper. The 2.0 engine allows you at least 20mpg unless you go stroker but you're gonna want to step on it cause the hissing of the turbo gripping on all fours will tempt you beyond belief.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: All wheel drive makes mundane driving to the mall into a course race.

Cons: Very heavy, back end is sloppy and the stock engine leaves much to be desired.

Annie — FUN FUN FUN. Small engine with surprising power. will stomp a Civic without v-tec. Fast acceleration, and fun all around. The engine is in the process of rebuild. The paint has some defects but that will be fixed before it hits the drag strip.

Pros: Fun all around

Cons: not a 4G63

97-eclipse-lambo-ed Out — Ive had this car for about 2.5 years now and i love it. It does have some problems from the previous owner that i had to fix but she's runnin like a Champ now.. i got 18's on it with a full body kit and the usual rice burner-ized: headers, intake, and exhaust.. and as you can see those are legit Lambo Doors on there!! This car is a reflection of me, and once i get a new paint job she'll be Show Car ready...

Pros: Turnin heads once the doors open

Cons: The previous owner half-assing a bunch of stuff that ive had to go back and fix
