Good Cheap Around Town Chore Truck. — Performance is decent at low speeds, could use more passing power. 4.0l engine prone to oil leaks. Repairs are cheap as everything interchanges with the Ford Ranger. Mile is around 26 highway and 18 city. Manual transmission provides better economy than automatic. Overall a decent little truck.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Smaller size, compared to today's full sized trucks means better maneuverability.

Cons: dated 4-wheel drive system on front axle.

Great Begginers Truck. — I love the look of this truck. Its sleek looking in black (and other colors) and with the chrome strips on the extended cabs. Extended cab best looking out of all cab options. All in all a beefy looking truck. Great handeling, Great suspension controll. Engine runs as if new with 130,000+ miles on it. the only problem i have is the clutch grabbing and not activating when i stop and push in clutch occasionally. Harder to shift now after 130,000+ miles, (mainly because a slave cylinder issue.) Stick shift . Driver airbag only. Over all great, sharp truck.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: great fuel economy. comfortable, sharp looking, muscular looking (for a small truck) lots of room for 2 or 3 people, great cab climate controll (infact too good)

Cons: tranny, not enough umph with a 4 cylinder,

My 1997 Mazda B2300 — the 2.3 L 4cyl is too small of an engine. Not rearly enough power. Better pick would be the v6. Cost of ownership is great, just regular repair work for the most part. Just some minor problems. The regular cab is kinda cramped also.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: good quality, holds up well

Cons: lack of passanger space

I Want His Truck! — This is my dad's truck, not mine but I love driving it. It is like my SUV but 1000x nicer and better. Really fun to drive and is a really nice truck, I'm stealing this one off his hands when(or if :P) he ever gets a newer truck!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Fun to drive, lots of power, really clean look

Cons: Wish it was mine!!!

Tough — Well, I have way to much money in my 02 Jeep to truly take it through some trails......so I bought my mazda for cheap and she gulps up the mud. This truck really surprised me to say the least. When buying this truck, I planned to take it through light mud/wet fields and things of the like. As I continued to try out the 4x4 in harder and harder places, I found out that it works unusually well for a ranger/b4000. I really think I must have gotten lucky with this 4x4 system. Everyone that watches me asks if I have lockers-and I dont. when I try to turn the mazda around in a dry spot while 4 wheel is engaged, it wont happen. This thing locks up hard and it's all stock except for my "custom" front bumper modification. This thing KILLS stock Toyota Tacomas in the mud- i've done it numerous times. Dont believe me? Bring it on Toyota man! Ha Ha....As for the performance of the B4, I dont think it is rightfully compared...mine is not all that great accelleration wise, and it is a manual trans with a not-so-great clutch. My friend has a ranger with the same motor that would kill mine in a race- theres something a tacoma will win at....barely.

Owner for 1 years, 2 months

Miles Driven per Year:10,000

Pros: Amazingly perfect 4x4. I can fit 31x10.50's with no scrub and good flex

Cons: air intake is prone to suck in water just from tire spray while off road. This is an easy fix. just unbolt from the fender and flip it upside down.
