1997 Ford Taurus — Performance is wonderful at full thottle Tree had fallen on the car 2006, only windscreen got replaced people says it looks like a cocaroach but to my eyes its quite sexy, It dont take much fuel for a V6, The car was good on the long trips I use to take it to Hilltop every week and has never left me stranded, Its one American car I can come back to all the time

Pros: looks, comfort, handling and the power

Cons: loss of market value paid $10000 now worth $4000 in 3 years

For A Ford(and A First Car), This Thing's Great. — As my frist car I shouldn't complain, but I've barely got to drive the beast because Ford makes some special tool that it needs to fix it, and the tool hasn't come in yet. It's clean, sleek, and shiny black, I love this thing, except it is a Ford, which is a bad omen right there.

Pros: Get-up-&-go car, awesome control, starts and stops in a straight line, silent.

Cons: Ford, obnoxiously round dashboard/stereo thing, lack of CD player, seat a bit low(I'm short!)

Hate The Looks, But Decent Quality — I love but hate it. Its nice to have a fast v6 and pretty good performance. But to be honest, the thing isn't the most attractive car. And I've had my share of random things falling apart and it sticking in park during cold winter days. But it has always gotten me from point A to point B with no problem. Also, it has pretty good gas mileage.

Pros: the v6, fairly reliable, gas mileage is decent

Cons: looks, age

Its A Good Car — handles very well, and has a resinoble amout of power from a 3.0L V6. comfortable and nice interior, lots of room, exept behind the drivers seat becuse im so tall i have to have the seat back a ways lol. would make a great car for a familly or evev single people who just need a good reliable car to get around.

Pros: decent looking, handle very well, great safty features, comfy interier, and not the fastest but has a good amount of power

Cons: not a flashy kind of car, probly not good for racing, not alot of after market parts for this model.

Mom's Car — I hate driving this car. Having said that it is amazingly reliable. When ever someone in the family has car trouble they end up driving my mom's car.

Pros: Reliable

Cons: Ulgy, clunky, slow

I Actually Do Miss Henry. — I believe the newer Taurus are more sleek and stylish... I would actually consider getting one of those. Henry was a great car who got me through high school and college. :)

Pros: Safe

Cons: Grandma Car

Fun Family Car — I have one of these in my garage but can't drive it because of a title issue.

Pros: Solid, fast, fun, V-8 rumble

Cons: Cam Failure that Ford won't recall. Expensive to repair.

Good Dependable Moderate Sized Car — Good car, will go 200K with proper care. Jellybean body style of 96 and on less functional than 95 and earlier 'box' style.

Owner for 1 years, 3 months

Miles Driven per Year:25,000

Unreliable And Cheaply Made — Always had trouble with even the most basic automotive functions; starting, stopping and steering. It was constantly in the shop due to problems with the starter, the transmission, or the brakes. The interior dimensions are the Taurus' only saving grace.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Roomy given its exterior dimensions

Cons: Unreliable. Love it or hate it styling. Strange, oversized buttons on dash. Poor handling

A Hidden Value Of American Car. —

If you ever read consumer reports back in the 90's you would see bad reviews on american made cars. Things like reliability in the bad or worst. This is different, this is a ford and during those 90's there was a sedan that could handle a family road trip The length of the car is about sedan sized, but the difference is it is a little wider, and longer to boot. That means the turning arc is more of a diagonal slice then a curve going forward as the car rear of the car does not rotate as much. In congested parking situations you need the whole width of the traffic lane before turning. The back may be clear but the front can still hit the car that is perpendicular to your space. Worry about the other car more cause a small scratch leaves only bits of paint and a tiny fixable deformation, the other newer car gets dented and all scratched up while costing more, hmmm.... Gas mileage is the same as the 90's and 2000's, it is the same in any 3.0 liter six cylinder ,and the funny thing is the gas tank is the same size as any other newer car and still gets the same mileage or can cruse at 65MPH only at 2k RPM's I think of the car as more of a cruiser then a sedan, but the benefits is it is a cruiser with sedan engine performance. As if people make six seat capacity sedans anymore There are drainage holes under the truck carpet to drain the trunk if any water got in the trunk, which it did. So fear not future classic collectors, Ford thought of everything.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: A sedan that has as much room as a cruiser.

Cons: It is a sedan, but handles like a cruiser. Automatic transmission is not sporty and has gaps between gear shifts.
