Big, Useful, Lazy, With Many Problems — lot of technical problems, almost each month in a service. 1,8TD engine is very lazy in this size car. hope i never bought car like this. dont buy model with Lucas, even Bosch or Delphi. Ive never seen scrap like that...

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: big one on the road

Cons: one of the slowest on the road

The Best Car I've Owned — My car is a '97 Ford Mondeo 2.0 GLX hatchback. I've had it for three months now, and I've been surprised to see that I can reach an MPG of 32 US liter (38 imperial litre), or 7,4 litres per 100 km while driving on highway. There's a lot of space in the car to install sound systems, and the car corners like on rails with 17" alloy wheels and lowered suspension. Mk II Mondeo's interior design is timeless.

Pros: Good handling and lots of space

Cons: Tyre noise

Ford Mondeo Mk2 1.8 Glx 4 Door Saloon — Really nice car. Tagged as a rep car in it's time - well what a rep car. The 1.8 Zetec engine revs hard as Zetecs do and provides quite good performance for the size car and engine package. Transmission is smooth and the lift up reverse is a favourite feature of mine. Interior is a bit grey but that's because of the styling from that era - however it is very comfortable. Great specced car. Would recommend a Mondeo to anyone. It's my frist but not my last.

Pros: Great Engine - Comfortable to drive - Very Roomy

Cons: Fuel consumption goes downhill if you stick your foot down hard

Top Honours—hard To Believe It’s Just A Ford — Excellent handling and lively performance from 2·0 model, plus well designed interior. Little to fault the Mondeo—the best mid-sized car in its day.

Pros: Handling, ride, performance, all-round competence

Cons: Badge lacks snob appeal to some buyers

Good Solid, If Thirsty Car — Well its kept going pretty much without any need for major repair for the last 3 and a half years. cheap parts and servicing but i wish i had bought the estate version.

Pros: Cheap to buy and run.

Cons: It guzzles fuel at a stupid rate

St24. Great Car. Noise From Induction Is Awesome — great car. very powerfull. loads of torque.tremendous noise from V6 engine. plenty of toys= air con, heated screen, heated mirrors + wash jets, elec sunroof + all windows, 6disc changer. handles fantastic for a big car. RSAP bodykit as standard looks awesome.

Pros: fantastic car as standard. just right.

Cons: having to sell it!!

Meeting Room On Four Wheels — My Mondeo has only got a 1.8 litre engine, which is a tad too small for it. Furthermore, I would have wanted automatic, but as I bought second hand, one can't choose from the upper shelf. Seats four adults comfortably, which makes it a joy on longer road trips.

Pros: VERY comfy for a car of this class.

Cons: I wish I had the Duratec V6 and automatic transmission.
