Good, Cheap Motoring. Drive It Long Enough For It To Die And Youll Be Waiting A While. — Goes hard, sounds great with a couple of extras. Can get 900kms+ out of the 68L tank even if its full and has dead spark plugs. Shocking turning circle, auto gearbox burns out a lot quicker than the engine. Doesnt look that great stock.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Long trips= safe, reliable, economical, engine last for a long time if treated well, cheap, cheap and easy to repair

Cons: Its a bogan car, through and through. police like them. to fine, that is.

El Falcon — It's a Ford, it has no performance. Not too bad in fuel economy. build quailty is ok. Lots of plastic. tons of room though. room for push chair, portacot & 4 adults. Still a Ford though. Blown head gasket when I bought it, cmmen problem but easy to fix. Damn Fords.

Pros: Roomy

Cons: Gutless

My El Xr6 — first e series xr6 i have owned !! unbeleivable performave for a factory 6 , with a few little mods has improved it even further , i wouldnt swap it for anything , i will be buying a newer one and this one will become my weekend fun machine !!! and fords service is great , one door lock motor played up so they replaced them all ! i love the look of it ! itjust beggs to be driven , the only drawback is the auto .. but a 5 speed is coming , around town depending on my driving its quite good on fuel , on the hihway i average at 8.9 to 9.5 l per 100 ks which isnt too shabby , a recent trip to sydney cost 196.00 for 1360 km , with prices ranging from 1.60 pl for premium to 1.80 so u can figure that on out ... it is definatly a fun car to drive !!!!

Pros: everthing but the auto ( well its not to bad alot of fun in the wet !!)

Cons: auto box :)

My Car — It goes pretty well! With a few mods, it will fly. It has a couple of squeaks and rattles, but they will be fixed. It looks ok. Needs a little bit of work there. It gets me 10.8 litres per hundered, which for a big sedan is good, and it is hell fun to drive! Roll center is rubbish, but with pedders sports ryder and superking lows, it sits ok. Fixing the roll center will make it handle like a dream...

Pros: Performance, comfort, potential, space, looks have potential

Cons: Cost of fuel, old - so some bits need fixing

Good All Around Xr6 Sports Sedan — I bought my xr6 over a year ago and it has been a very good car, minor things have gone wrong here and there, either from mistreatment or just general wear and tear. fuel consumtion is great, 450k's from a 60lt tank.

Pros: looks great, loads of power for an NA straight 6

Cons: power windows/central locking motors are prone to stuff up and front end alignment has to be checked regularly

Luxury Meets Muscle — It's got all the good stuff, climate control, cruise control, trip computer, electric windows, veloure (sp?) seats. The original suspension was too high and bouncy so now it has some super low king springs and monroe gas shocks, handles great. The wheels are off an EB or ED xr6 I think, I like them better than the standard alloys. The breaks have never locked up even when the pads are worn down. I've upgraded the sound system even though the stock speakers were alright, it now has an eclipse deck, alpine type S splits, 2 15" clarion subs and some clarion 6 inch speakers in the back. The car also has a 2.5" lukey exhaust system from the cat back which gives it a very sporty note. I am very happy with the car and would highly recommend an EL fairmont to anyone, they're a great car when they're looked after. I would suggest though, getting a Ghia because it has a few extra luxury features, and the 6 cylinder has the xr6 motor in it, or you can get a 5 litre v8.

Pros: Very comfortable and safe to drive, lots of top end power / torque

Cons: Quite heavy on fuel if your a leadfoot.  Gearbox, cooling system, door locks (but no problem if you look after it)

Living With The Flying Falcon. — the falcon is a good average family, car, plenty of mods available for it too. my comfort rate was picked lower due to the fact, i've lowered mine in the back with just the stock shock absorbers, makes it a litte bit bouncy. the 4.0 litre inline six has plenty of power on tap, the gearbox sucks though, i reccomend shift kitting it or putting a stally in it to stop it from slipping alot. acclerates hard, stops fine when your brake booster isn't cracked from the heat of the extractors. cost me about 90 bucks a week on full if i don't drive it hard. it has enormous fun potential, and is also a prime candidate for forced induction

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: at around 365000 km's travelled, the motor is a bit tired at the moment, and i've managed to stuff a piston, so now i have a tick in the motor. im engine swapping out for a tickford series 3 au motor now which is basically the same motor just with a bit more power and efficiency. should be able to torch the tires taking of no problem apparently.

Cons: the fact that everyone writes fords off so quickly performance wise. every week i get people saying that either their holden, skyline or whatever jap car they own is quicker. the reality is mine has a cam, extractors, and a 2 and quarter inch exhaust and it smashes non turbo supras quite easily. i've kept up with wrx's and evo's and even some v8's pushing 300-400 hp at the rears. i get alot of people asking me "is that an eight? sounds like it" nah its a six buddy and you just got smashed.
