I Love My Truck! — with over 300,000 miles on this truck when i got rid of it it still ran great and i wished i had never traded it off. it had 4.3 automatic in it and got close to 20 miles a gallon and that is awesome for a full size truck.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: ext cab chevy is like having a car that seats 6 people and a truck to boot!

Cons: i traded it for a short bed 4x4! but traded it for another 97 with less miles and better shape!!

Great Truck!!!! — works great, but after driving my jeep over bumps, this thing rides alot more like a truck than a car. drove it for more than a year, though, and that's one thing about it....it's lasted this long, it'll last longer. brakes are kinda soft, though

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: it's a truck and a chevy...do you really need more reason?

Cons: careful about the brakes....otherwise, have fun!

I Love It. Will Never Get Rid Of It. — I love my K1500 Ext Cab Silveraldo. Its a great truck. Tons of torque. Great looks. Awful on gas. Strong Engine and Trans. I have driven for 5 years and 60K miles. Only done regular service to 4x4 system. Will Pull anything put behind it. I Love it!!!

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

    Pros: Great looks. Strong, Comfortable.

    Cons: Gas guzzler

Simply One Of The Best — considering it had a 4.3 v6 it was amazing it towed showed and got it done in style not the most winter friendly but one of my favorite vehicles to date should never have sold it and would highly reccomend buying any configuration of 88-98 chev half ton by far one of thebest engineered reliable trucks u can runn minor electric problems is my only gripe

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: fun sporty and favorite truck ever built

Cons: not family friendly  but a crew or extended cab would fill that problem

My 97 Z71 — I really liked this truck and it was awful having to sell it, it had great horsepower, big super swampers that went through everything, and looked nice doing it. I never had to do any major repairs, just general maintenance-because chevy trucks rule!!!

Pros: Everything-looks, hp, torque and off-road capabilities

    Cons: Um...selling it

I Had 4 C/k's Now And I Jus Havta Have My Truck.. — with the c/k body style fuel injection was primative til the vortecs in 96 and a weak 700r4 for the transmission. the IFS is smooth but expensive to work on as im finding out after a accedent in oct 09.. the trucks are fun to cusomize and the ext cab platform is a prime choice for lifting or lowering and still get a sound system in the back seat like i did with 2 12" subs and a kenwood amp

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: solid truck with cushy seats and many custom opt

Cons: poor MPG, breaking and handling are not refined yet

Good Vehicle To Own, Or I Wouldn't Have Bought It — Typical intake gaskets sucking oil from engine or dumping antifreeze into engine oil. Better fuel economy with a K&N filter system, and synthetic oil. This vehicle tows and hauls great, also a comfortable ride if you have back problems.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

    Pros: Dependable

Cons: nothing I can think of

1997 Chevy 1500 — Super awesome truck. Lotsa power, will burn the tires easily. Super smooth ride, even at 95 mph. Built like an ironclad, survives alot of abuse. Easy to maintain, little work ever needed. Ok on gas. Overall its a pretty bad ass truck.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Everything

Cons: Minor odd things (Easily fixed)

Reasons To Get A 4.3 V-6 Truck — 4.3 gas saver! * Performance - acceleration ok, braking ok, handling like a truck. * Build Quality - has it needed repairs 200k miles yes, some major. squeaks/rattles: what trucks dont? come on! * Appearance - both interior and exterior styling are a truck. * Cost of Ownership - gas mileage is awesome at 25 mpg, maintenance tranny costs cash, most repairs outside of that are cheap. * Fun Factor - is this car fun to drive? can be if you want it to.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Its a truck

Cons: Its a truck... and drives like one.
