Great Work Truck — I believe that the Ford F-series trucks are best in thier class. They have good brakes, they accelerate with desent speed, and the handling is awesome. The only repair my truck has ever needed was the oil change and that isn't even technically a repair. This I would have to say is the best truck I have ever owned.

Pros: Great handling and speed

Cons: Tires could be a bit bigger.

1996 Ford F-150 — These are nice trucks don't get me wrong, but they are gas hogs. My dad's old one used to average about 16mpg. They have plenty of power, and can really take a beating. For a truck, these look good. When I think truck, I think F-150. These are fun to drive off road. You can take the 4WD versions almost anywhere you can think of. However, unless I was hauling things, I wouldn't take it on a long drive unless I had to. However, these trucks will definitely do some work. Other than gas mileage, the only other negative about this, is the steering. It's decent, but has some play to it.

Pros: Power, performance, 4WD, Durable

Cons: Gas Mileage, Play in the steering.

Worst Thing I've Ever Driven — Under powered, horrible gas mileage even for the inline 6. Uncomfortable bench seat. Nothing ever worked. Expensive to fix. I can't understand why there are so many of these on the road! Model-T era technology. Henry Ford must be rolling over in his grave! Will never buy a Ford again!

Pros: there where none.....other than I don't own it anymore.

Cons: read my review

No Hard Miles On This, It's A Keeper. — I've rebuilt the front suspension, brakes, bearings, including the rear bearings, which was a first for me. It's good looking, with the running boards and mudflaps, It's not getting rusty, so it's going to be a hybrid soon, so I'll be getting better mileage and the engine will last longer, plus, I'll be helping the environment, be adding oxygen to the atmosphere instead of contributing to global warming. What do you think of that?

Pros: Strong engine, 4 wheel drive, for snow and pulling the boat out of the water.

Cons: Oh yeah, it likes to suck down the gas.

Rock Solid Truck —

This truck has surprised the hell outta me. Ive been a Chevrolet guy as long as I can remember...but this truck is one of the MOST reliable, toughest rigs I've owned. It can haul twice as a 1/2 ton Chevrolet and not complain at all. The 300 inline six is bulletproof. I am reaching just over 20 miles a gallon with this full size 4x4 with almost 260 000 kms on it. The 5 speed M5ODR2 isn't as much of a transmission as this truck could handle, but it gets the job done. Manual hubs, manual shift transfer case and 3.08:1 gears with rear posi (factory) in an 8.8 carrier works when it is pushed, but is silent when not in use. The TTb front suspension is a pain in the rear end to have aligned, but gives both the benefits of a solid axle with the ride of independant suspension. The suspension carries the 2000 pounds plus of salt I carry to salt mall sidewalks with easy....drooping a mere 2 or 3 inches under the heavy load. Overall I love how this truck performs. With 145 horsepower is not lightning fast, it's 270 ft-lbs of torque makes sure there is as little downshifting with a load on as possible.

Pros: minimal use of plastic...inside and out, manual hubs, heavy duty suspension, insane gas milage

Cons: could use a tougher transmission

Good Truck — Very dependable. Decent power for the 5.0, got around 17 mpg around town. The only reason I sold is because it wasnt 4x4. No bad remark.

Good Looking F150 — This is the last year Ford built the 4.9 inline 6. It has excellent low end torque and decent fuel mileage. I love the square styling of the older F150 and these trucks are very reliable. The front springs have sagged during it's 16 years so I will replace them with new coils and 2 inch spacers to make the truck sit level. I plan to install some aftermarket wheels with 265/70/17 tires. This is a low mileage truck with only 37,000 kms. A keeper.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: I love the styling of the 90-96 F150

Cons: Like the SWB better but found this excellent low mileage LWB
