Very Good, A Hard Worker That I Am Well Pleased With. I Would Most Definatly Buy Another. —

95 A Series 2.8 TD (LWB). 142k on the clock. Goes like a dream although it's not the fastest thing on the road. Daily drive is over 70 miles and I average about 33 to 34 mpg so well pleased. Loads of space in it (had 22 large concrete paving slabs in the back and it went okay). Also pulled some pretty large trailers with no problems as well. X-Country performance is okay, with the 4wd and high/low ratios I would be more than happy to take the thing anywhere across Soltau or Sennalager (Tank Training Areas). If you can get a Landrover there (and I've driven those professionally), this would easily follow, the only limit really would be the drivers x-country skills. Build quality is generally okay, engine, being the 2.8 TD Isuzu is stronger than a brick *******, gear box matches. It has a strong ladder type chassie so no problems there. It does have the odd rattle but then most cars of this age do. My only niggle would be the electric mirror switch, it's rubbish and keeps failing, other than that it's good. Appearence is not too dated, it's got the larger tyres on it and I've removed the stupid side step things as they got in the way when going x-country. Cost? 700 quid from ebay :) 33 to 34mpg, oil change every 3 months due to the high mileage I do in it and I change the gearbox & axle oils at the same time. Overall pretty reasonable to run considering the size of vehicle. However I would not consider the petrol model unless it had a LPG conversion. Fun to drive? oh yes.... :) nearly as good as sex lol

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: ticks all the box'es for me.

Cons: The stupid wing mirror switch

Frontera Swb —

An Lovely little baby 4x4 powered by a 2.8 TDI Isuzu engine outputting 113bhp and producing 28 - 34 mpg, weighing in at around 2550kg making it a bit of a heavyweight and a top speed not far past 90mph. This particular one fitted with slightly larger 265/70R16 Enduro HT all terain tyres. Now up to 157 000 miles and still going strong with a wonderful sounding engine, you get several little squecks and funny noises but only too be expected on an older vehicle. Fuel comsumption is good for this type of vehicle and the ability to use the 4x4 system make it a lot morw fun then a car. bodywork shows only slight signs of rust even after many years with the paint scratched and chipped away. apperance is quite box like the interior is simple and the dash dosn't take over the entire front of the vehicle giving pleanty of room inside. Unfortuently the SWB is only a three door making the back seats harder to reach and very little boot space, however this is made up for by the fact that its a hardtop convertalbe thats great in the summer when you remove the rear roof and rear windows however once the roofs off you have to leave it behind as there no space in or on the truck so if it rains your a little stuck.

Pros: Good engine anf fuel consumtion, fun to drive, 4 wheel drive in case you get stuck

Cons: Only 3-door
