Great Gas Mileage! — Okay, older Saturns are typically called "ugly". This car has outstanding gas mileage at 35 mpg city/highway. It gwts you from A to B.

Pros: Great gas saver!!!

Cons: Not as aesthetically pleasing as I would like.

It Was A Good Car, Ten Years Ago. — It wasn't a bad car. It's getting old, it's been in a few accidents, and I think it's a lemon. But it's still pretty reliable, and it gets me from point A to point B.

Pros: I was T-Boned and survived with minor injury.

Cons: It's a magnet for stereo theifs and other cars.

6th Rock — Overall the coupe has been a great car, I'm very sad to see the age begin to show. Driving to work one day on the while recently I noticed the drivers-side headlight seemed to be moving. It turned out to to be the headlight cover which rotten completely off.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: The coupe is fun to drive and hard to imagine anything else as affordable, probably the reason they are no longer available.  The cost per year averaged not quite $400.  Love 33 MPG combined even 17 years later.   I really like the sleek style as much today as when it was new.

Cons: Limited dealerships for service, water leaks, the same things that bothered me when it was new still do now (water leaks).

Its Good For A First Car — 0-60 in 9.5 secs, best run was a 8.64 after mods. Handles decent. In 6 months i needed to fix two items but its quality is pretty good. Exterior is girlish and paint is chipped on spoiler, interior is low tech but sound system is was ok until I upgraded it. Gas mileage is about 25-35 mpg depending on my driving. The 5 speed manual tranny is fun to use.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Quick little car

Cons: Very girly looking

This Puppy Is A Plain-clothed Fuel Sipper That Isn't Afraid Of Putting The Pedal To The Floor — The Saturn SL1 is a more economical version of the SL2, with about 110 HP and 38 MPG(EPA). It simply isn't very pretty, but with an amazing tolerance to punishment, this car is extremely fun to use at the autocross. I'm currently trying to save up for some major repairs, that were directly caused by my extemely spirited driving.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Fuel mileage, light weight, good handling

Cons: Lackluster appearance, crappy AT
