Great Looking, Fast, Awd Sports Car With 6 Speed Manual Transmission — Owned this car for 11 years and it has been great. Excelent in all weather, if you equip it appropriately with the right tires (summer Y rated tires for spring, summer and fall) and winter studless tires for winter. 0-60 in 4.8 sec after you add a boost controller. 1/4 mile in 12.9 sec at 110 mph. Fuel mileage is 25 mpg on the highway cruising at 75 mph, however, driving faster on the highway and having some city traffic will decrease your mpg.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: AWD, AWS (all wheel steering), turbocharged, 6 speed manual transmission, fast car, head turner, excellent in winter with dedicated studless winter tires, nice gadgets for the 1990s (active aero, electronically controlled suspension, power driver seat, targa top sunroof, power antena).

Cons: heavy vehicle

Good Sports Car Performance, Great Looks For A Decent Price. Prepare For Maintenance Challenges! — Mitsubishi put too many gimmicks into the VR-4s, resulting in a heavy, complex sports car. They should have put more effort into the basics - horsepower, and drivetrain reliability. 0-60 in a hair over 5 sec was good in 1995 but is mediocre today. The Spyder retractable hardtop system is still an eye-catcher. Although it was the first production retractable hardtop since 1959, it is still comparable in quality to those produced 15 years later. Solid handling, but too much fake leather trim. The real leather seats are very comfortable. Fun to drive? Absolutely!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Limited production, and eye-catching

Cons: Difficult to find qualified dealer technicians

Get It — Performance is awesome, but it rattles a bit inside the cabin. Appearance is also amazing, but between gas mileage and maintenance cost, you best have a big wallet to offset the costs. Otherwise, awesome car to drive. So yeah, fun to drive.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun

Cons: Expensive

3000 — This is the best car I ever had. Great acceleration, great handling and you can always modify it to your "needs". My need was to get it to 400 hp. 4WD, 4WS, it's simply the best sports car you can get. Paid 44000 US$, 5000$ in upgrades. Make sure you install a H&K air filter for 10 more hp

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: speed

Cons: defrost

If You Find One In Good Condition, Get It. — Handles good, Rides good, Comfortable (for me), Looks great, and it sounds good with some exhaust modification. If you cant fix it yourself if it breaks down, your looking at 500$ MIN cost for someone to fix it. If you cant, -- then Learn to fix it.--

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It is gorgeous. Fairly Rare.

Cons: High repair cost, if you cant do it yourself.

Lots Of Looks — Nice looking car but it is slow, buy the VR4 if you get one. It accelerates good for the base model and handles amazingly, the appearance is the best part of this car though since there are rare in most cities.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Rare

Cons: Slow
