Custom, What Till You Pull Up Along Side Of It! — V8 swap! 305 with Turbo 400 transmission and posi Dana 44 rear.

Pros: V8, Hurst ratchet shifter

Cons: Only a 305

Amazing Vehicle. — Excellent performance and reliability. Is a lot of fun to drive and easy to fix yourself(not a lot of computer garbage). A car you'll love after one drive.

Pros: See above.

Cons: Reliability becomes shaky with high mileage.

Pretty Good, Not A Vechicle I Would Choose To Drive Unless I'm Moving Houses. — I loved the sound of the idle, most people don't like the rumbling noise when you're sitting at a light but i enoyed it. Gas mileage is terrible however $80 a week if i just drive to school then work for that week.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Tons of power, to much for a 16 year old at the time. Really fun to go back roading on. Can pull just about anything you need it to. EASY to work on if you like fixing things yourself.

Cons: 9 to the gallon in town, thanks to be super charged. Not the greastest handeling or brakes.

Little Red Chevy S-10 — 2 rear wheel drive - sand bags in the back, or simply garage it on the 1st snow. The only time I see them around town is mid-spring until late fall, like my fiancee does, she parks it in the garage all winter, (use of liquid salt solution, is just plain lethal to the undercarriage and paint). We've towed and hauled just about everything under the sun with this small truck. (It came with a heavy duty tow package/suspension). The bench seat is actually comfortable, the ride is better than some cars I've riden in, especially for long trips. Visibility is excellent. Tie down points are placed well, although she decided to add stainless steel bed rails to facilitate strapping down larger loads (they look nice too). Currently with only 93K on the odometer, she (the truck) still runs very well. The usual water pump, master cylinder, new tires, tranny flush, and other normal maintenance has been done over the years... all in all, it's been and continues to be.. a very, very, reliable vehicle.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: They run longer than most new cars on the road today. It's not unusual to see an S-10 with over 200K on the odometer.

Cons: Discontinued model. But - Parts are still plentiful.

Rebel Rice Rocked "rrr" — i love the handling and turning radius of the truck down fall is that the govener shuts it down at 92mph. gas mpg is amazing compaired to my prior vehicals it gets 38mpg and has an 18 gal tank. and the truck is the funnest ive ever owned, cept i cant really take it off roading like i want but its all good

Pros: amazing ride smooth handling all round good vehical

Cons: too low bottoms out too easily and on dirt roads it rides like a 1 ton

1995 Chevrolet S-10 LS Extended Cab RWD Review
Grl2002 says:
Nice vehicle for moving to a new apartment. Stable to drive, just not especially good in turns or parking, just ok for that. Easy to work on because the engine area is spacey, unlike newer cars. Doesnt have as much acceleration as one would like because of the size of the vehicle and size of the engine. Overall reliable.

Cargo Capacity Ranked 2002 Toyota Prius worse.
"The Chevy S-10 Extended Cab has pretty good space behind the seats for traveling luggage and some camping gear that you want to keep dry. The truck bed is good sized and has tie down hooks for moving furniture."
Family Car Ranked 2002 Toyota Prius better.
"Reliabilty, acceleration (for safe passing) and mileage (for cost of gas), and long term market value make the Toyota Prius excellent for families."
