Best Chevy I Ever Had! — I have never been a chevy fan, but I like my Monte. I bought it 2 years ago with 157,000 miles. Now it's got 213,000 and still going strong. I was getting poor milage til I had the transmission rebuilt. I didn't even realize overdrive wasn't working! Now it always gets high 20's and I even pulled 30.2 mpg at 80 mph while crossing Tennessee. I love the power and the high revs of the engine, and I use it often. The motor reminds me of the high reving mopar small blocks. Usually a chevy engine doesn't hold up to my style of driving, but this motor seems to thrive on being used! On the down side, it is one of the hardest motors I have ever had to work on. It has a poor design for an oil leak where the distributor used to be, and it takes a long time to bleed the cooling system. I like the appearance of the car because it doesn't grab attention. I also like that I do not have a wing or any bright emblems advertising the Z34 package. Other than the 2 tailpipes, it looks like a regular monte. Noone expects a 2-door Lumina to run with the V-8's. The Z34 handles great with a great feel to the steering, but it doesn't turn very sharp for parking. I have had problems keeping the back brakes working properly and finally just converted the whole brake system to regular brakes, not anti-lock. Now I have better brakes than ever, but I still have a lot of brake fade while driving in the rain.

Pros: lots of power, great handling, and comfortable.

Cons: turning radius, Chevy wiper controls, hard to work on engine

Mont Carl — It was a good car. I built it from the ground up but it was too old. It tried it's best 'till the very end. I would recommend a better condition one. Great power, nice smooth look about it. It was fun while it lasted.

Pros: Great power and apeal.

Cons: It was old with high milage.

Monte Carlo — I loved this car and I really miss it. Not sure why, I can't really explain it. It completely died with 109k miles on it, so I had another engine put in and that one died about 500 miles later too. Build quality was ok even though a couple lights on the dash didn't work.

Pros: I liked it for some reason

Cons: GM sucks

My Vehicle — To start, I have been preaching the word of the Monte Carlo since the 7th grade. The 3.4L dual overhead cam engine has a unique torque curve, really kicking in at 4K RPM. The trans in my beast isn't too bad, it buzzes when its hot though. Gas mileage isn't great, but overall is ok. Except the cost of fixing it. Its expensive. And just like me, she hates sitting in traffic.

Pros: Everything

Cons: Expensive to fix

Really Nice Car. — It runs great, 150,000 miles and it still gets good gas mileage.

Pros: Aerodynamic as hell, corners like an F1 car.

Cons: Needs some work.

Average — Comfortable car, that likes to rev, but poor gas mileage ruins the experience.

Great Car. — I've owned this car for almost a year and its had no problems other than the ones that it had wen i bought it. This picture was taken just after the first snow that occurred after i got the car.

Pros: reliable.

Cons: needs to be repainted on the hood and trunk at the very least.

Cheap, Unreliable — Worst car I've ever owned. The 3.4L V6 engine is severely under powered compared to other engines of similar size.

Pros: None

Cons: To many.
