1994 Grand Am 2dr, Clean One Owner. $2,400 — God damn, it's a Grand Am. As this was my first car, I have many fond memories of it. From plowing into curbs to tanking on the freeway at 100+ that car never let me down. Originally from California, the car was purchased by a rental agency and somehow it ended up in Michigan. It had the 2.3 SOHC engine with the four speed auto trans, it wasn't fast but it wasn't lethargic either. It was also good for 28-31 mpg too. I got it with 102k mi and put 54k on it over the course of four years. During that time I repaired or replaced plenty of parts for preventative maintenance, but as for unexpected repairs it needed: -Blower motor for HVAC system (~$70) -Wheel cylinders for rear brakes (~$30) -Rear right & left wheel bearings (~$300) -Right & left lower ball joints (~$90) -Front right & left rubber brake hoses (~$35) -Composite water neck (~$35) -Radiator (never replaced it) -A/C compressor (never replaced it) -Starter motor (never replaced it) I replaced the water neck because of a coolant leak issue, and then the radiator started to leak. I never replaced the radiator because I figured it'd just sprout a leak somewhere else, like the heater core, yikes. What the hell though, it's used and over 10 years old, if it doesn't need repairs it isn't a car. Overall the car was a blast and I wish I still had it, 'nuff said. Pros: Reliable, great gas milieage, fun to drive, comfortable. Cons: Coolant leak that never went away, ![]() Looking for a Used Grand Am in your area?CarGurus has 115 nationwide Grand Am listings starting at $2,600. |

This Sucks!!! — PROS: the gas mileage is good (bout 30 mpg highway), it gets u from point a to point b, big trunk that can fit my 4 ball bowling bag, low on insurance (bout $50 a month) CONS: the acceleration sucks when the a/c is on, the dashboard shakes when driving it, the brakes suck Pros: good gas mpg, and cheap insurance Cons: everything |

Its A Great Car — performance- has great acceleration, brakes need to be changed but still work well, and the handling is great. build quality- there is a crack in the front bumper that was there when i got it but other than that its in real good condition. appearance- the interior is amazing almost brand new and i put seat covers on the front two seats. the exterior just has a couple chips in paint no big deal and the front bumper cracked but fixing soon. this car gets ok gas milage maybe 17-20 not too great but still love it. maintenance i try to wash it every 2 weeks and vacuum it out and clean the inside once a week. I would recommend this car to a friend. This car makes me feel great about myself and I even have a couple friends who want to get the same model. Pros: Fast Car, always taken for granted when comes to ppl looking at it for speed, great interior Cons: could use better gas milage, window and radio need to be fixed along with crack in bumper |

Awesome First Car — My car is 14 years old, there are no scratches on any of the plastic parts, the engine only has 60k miles on it, and it handels so well. Plus for stock exhaust its pretty loud and rumbly.
Pros:
good on gas
Cons:
It has a wierd nose |

Best Winter Ride Ever — I owned a black beauty, and put over 75K on it in 2 years, but the best thing about this car was that with a great set of snows it got me back and forth from Erie to Buffalo every weekend for 2 years, and 3 round trips during the 7 ft. week of snow during Christmas Week of 2001. I had 4WD SUV's following ME on the highway... LOL!! Left her to the junkyard after the rear strut rusted out and my now wife boned it into a parking lot light post. Pros: Awesome little car, especially in the snow Cons: No Cruise on this one, and did tons of highway mileage... grrr |

It Is A Good First Car — I had this car for approximately four years. It was very reliable for me. I delivered pizza in it and it was great on gas. The performance was ok in it. It wasn't the fastest car in the world but had some good pickup. I would probably recommend this car for someone's first car. Pros: Gas milage, Reliable, Easy to see out of Cons: Not enough room in the back seat to hold three people comfortably |

An "ok" Car For The Price. — This car was way more reliable than my 1999 Grand Am! Car also withstood 4 wrecks and associated repairs (none my fault....two rear-ends, and my ex was driving in the other two wrecks). Pros: Affordable, pretty good gas mileage, a fairly good looking car, and fairly safe. Cons: Car didn't really have a lot of "get up and go". |
