Great Little Work Truck That Gets Good Gas Mileage - Don't Try To Race It — This is an exciting 98 bhp 2.3L 4 cylinder truck. It has been in my family since it was bought off the dealer lot. I am the third family owner of it. Only has 107,000 miles on it. I only drive it about 1,200 miles a year and that's been the case since 2002. It had 98,000 miles on it when I bought it from my dad. I have read nothing but negative reviews on the repair history for this truck but for some reason, it has been as good as gold for my family. We do perform regular maintenance on it and replace parts before they break so maybe that's the key. However, it gets great gas mileage (21 mpg around town and close to 31 on the highway). We upgraded the exhaust into a gibson cat back system and it improved gas mileage by 2 mpg. It also bumped up the horsepower another 6 or 7 bhps. We installed a customer airflow intake system and that added another 1 or 2 mpg improvement and probably added 10 bhp. It is probably pumping out about 114 bhp now and has noticeably more kick and punch to it. Just replaced the timing belt and the water pump but that was to be expected. Rides great since replacing the shocks and tires last year. Very reliable. Always starts. Even when it sits for months. Love this truck.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Low mainteance cost, dependable, good gas mileage

Cons: Weak horsepower, weak towing capacity, cheap interior

Good Little Truck — great truck, runs perfect, but it is slower then hell. but it handles a lot better then you'd think it would. i bought it,then spent every weekend for the next two months fixing damn near everything on it. but hey, good gas mileage and is easy to drive.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: it's so much fun to pass people on a nice twisty road, in a truck

    Cons: so damn slow

Hope You Have Time And Money To Build One — not exactly your normal ranger, its lowered, custom suspension, cobra mustang 5.0, pretty fast, handles fairly good, decent gas mileage because its still fuel injected. this is the funnest vehicle i have driven. gonna have to have some cash to built.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: fast

Cons: i would want to race it in a stock vehicle

See Above — Problem with the starter connection from the solenoid -- every six months needs to be cleaned and tightened. Motor just runs and runs and runs and runs. Poor thing is just rusting out underneath and on it's last legs after nearly 400,000 Kms. Running light module and some electrical problems over the years. All the guages still work. It's earned it's way for sure.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Hasn't died yet after 15 years

Cons: Irritating re-occuring problem with the starter connection

It Is An Ok Truck Just Requires A Little Up Keep Cuz It Old Lol — For what i have put the truck through it is very tough it has a few performance mods and some ghetto ones at that lol but i really like that it has a 3.0 v6 cuz i can steal the headers off a ford probe gt from a junk yard and they should fit perfectly lol

    Pros: none lol

Cons: it gets bad gas mileage lol

Pros: Great mileage, Loads of hp, and great farm truck

The Best Mini Truck By Far!!!! — The best Mini Truck by far!!!! It is a great little truck. It gets awesome gas mileage! And it has 351,000 on the original engine and still ticking! :-) It is fun to drive and accelerates fairly quick considering it is a four cylinder. One day i hope to change out the engine but that is definently future plans.

    Pros: Fun to drive!!!

    Cons: N/A
