My High School Graduation Present — Not a bad ride, not a great ride. The explorer didn't start the SUV craze but it was the first blockbuster seller.

Pros: Handy dandy in every way

Cons: Boxy, underpowered, and the back seat was rock hard.

Good For What It Is.. — Not meant to last. Engineered from a car chasis. Consequently, ride is preferred over off-road performance. It's really just a big grocery getter. Not bad for caryying a lot of friends. Mine was dark teal, introducing me to my favorite color. Tha Limited options were satisfactory, but nothing special.

Pros: ride, turning radius, power

Cons: car-based chasis, it's a ford

Nice Wheels For A Junker — Nice and Roomy, Over powered Engine for such a lightweight truck. Fish tails a lot in rain and slick conditions.

Pros: roomy, comfortable

Cons: lightweight, gas guzzler

1993 Ford Exploder — big clumsy gas gulping pig that was fun as hell in the mud. 33" mudders, 3" body lift and manual hubs. lightened it by lettin it rust out LOL

Pros: fun in the mud and spacious

Cons: handled like a bus, rusted out, drank gas like a desert survivor drinks water

I Love It ^_^ — I bought this Explorer because I never really used my pickup as a "pickup" The only thing I usually "hauled" around was friends, and that got cramped, so now I have a 2 dr explorer that i can seat 5 in comfortably. Not to mention the 4.0 V6 anf 5-speed really has some pep compared to the little 2.3 4 banger I used to have

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun to drive, tight handling, comfortable

Cons: head gasket blew

Loved this SUV. In fact, I'm getting another one (2014 or 2015)! Preferred to drive it over our second car, which is a sporty and fun-to-drive 300Z. Leather and 4WD a big plus but not "must haves". Li... Read More
