The German Tank — I bought this car just a couple weeks and i am very impressed with it. Overall impressed about its passive safety but not so much with active one. The build quality is just incredible. I bought this December 1992 version with just about 131000 kms and it still is good. In those bad roads where for example on a Vauxall/Opel Astra you feel the whole road, in this Vento you can`t even feel the speed bumps. I like the behaviour of the chassis in the curves. Very robust and tough. However the 1.4 engine isn`t built for speed. It is however built for the city. The 3 first gear shifts are a proof of that. All in all. It`s a nice car and like their human counterparts, in the speed/perfomance, this car with this engine, definatly finnish last.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: The torque in low rpm is awesome. (1.4 Engine).
The GL version has a nice level of equipment.
Gotta love those blaupunkt radios!
Great city car!

Cons: The 1.4 engine is a drag at high rpm (4000+).
The car has some issues with corrosion.
Due to its low speed gear box, dont expect miracles.

1992 Volkswagen VentoReview

Vento — Good car with automatic transmission. 90bhp 1,8l. First year vento. Light interior, no ABS, no airbag. But, it hat klimatronic system. Overall a good car, but had too many faults. Rust etc. Good 1st time car, good styling and tuning possibilities.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Nice look

Cons: Too many faults
