My First Car, I Love It... — I love almost everything about this car. It looks great, Its incredibly reliable for it's age (16 yrs/ 308,000miles), and its not lacking (too bad) in the performance department. The torque it puts out is actually pretty good considering the normally-aspriated 187 hp I-6 but off the line (automatic at least) it sometimes lacks cause auto starts in second gear and it's pretty heavy so I sometimes have trouble geting up to speed as fast as others, but once you get it going, it GOES. I think the design in itself is classic and it will never really look "old". The luxury and design standards on this car really aren't too far away from some of today's car. I also really love being one of the not-very-many who actually drive a W124 E. Only negatives besides some performance weaknesses Ive noticed so far is the not-too-great (pretty bad) gas mileage (about 20city/25hw). Otherwise I love driving my car...:)

Pros: Unique, reliable, fast once you get it moving, incredibly smooth, not too far off from newer cars

Cons: Heavy, bad gas mileage

Best Built E-class — good proportionally sized 2 door, easy aesthetic upgrade mods, nice cruiser..

Pros: rear windows go down, timeless design

Cons: nothing at all

Drives Great. Good Fuel Economy. Great Handling. — It's a sedan. That pretty much says it all. However, as far as sedans go, it's near the top. It accelerates reasonably quickly, but it handles like a dream. Turning radius is insane. The car looks pretty good too in jet back with tan interior. Overall, a nice car.

Pros: Fuel Economy. Handling. Looks good. Very reliable.

Cons: Sedan. Not incredibly fast. Acceleration doesn't force you into the back of your seat per-say.

I've Owned This For Almost 2 Years, A Record For Me. — I fell in love with these in the late 80's (new in the U.S. in '86) and was happy to find one in good shape with few miles. Fifteen years on and the build quality puts many new cars to shame. I wish it had the 3.0 liter engine as the mpg gain for the 2.6 isn't great. At least the 2.6 is known for being more durable.

Pros: Smooth, quiet and competent.

Cons: Could use more power, or more efficiency.
