Ever-lasting Benz -- The Legendary "tank" From The Good Old Mercedes — What can be better than this hand-made Mercedes-Benz built in the old days, while the German engineers assembled every one of this masterpiece and tested it to perfection before each "release." This is the PRIME of the 4th generation of the 190E (model years are 1984, 85-86, 87-88, 91-93). Absolutely refined engineering.

Pros: Track the road best, Impressive handling on both urban road & freeway, Practical good size sedan

Cons: Nothing... If I'm required to say something here, I'd say "power" but then I'm glad this is not a V6 (the 2.3 actually has enough power and getting good gas mileage even after 16 years).

Baby- Benz On Its Best — It was summer of 1984, when this small car hit the market, and it was already hit by critics: too small, too consuming, too something, not a real Mercedes, but my experience is that it is a Mercedes in any way except in size. Very enjoyable ride (like the 'real' Benz), in lower prizing.

Pros: handling, braking, traction, ...

Cons: too consuming actually is true... :(

Great Car — This car does run well except that the transmission drags every once in a while. My windows on the left side don't work.

The Best Things Come In Small Packages — This 5-speed manual runs up to 30 mpg while effortlessly eating up the road. The suspension sticks like glue. It's really quiet turning 2250 rpm at 60mph. At 15 years old and 174,000 miles it's an a-m-a-z-i-n-g car! I have come late to the Mercedes scene but having put 7200 miles on this car in the last 2 months - I can't get enough! I have a special edition New Beetle that is 2 seconds faster to 60mph and changes lane at a flick of the wrist but it's sitting on the side of the driveway - This is THE driving experience!

Pros: Engine, transmission, suspension are very well matched. Loves the road!

Cons: Learning the "190E Slide" to get around the huge steering wheel.

Must Get Car. It's Amazing!!!! — It was a great car. Clean. Leather seats. New radio. Work has been done on the car. It has over 200,000 miles on that car. We sold it to someone we know. I miss the car a lot. It was a wonderful car.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Best car we had!!! I miss it. It's better than an Audi!!! No offense to Audi lovers. Great car with over 200,000 miles on it. It still working I hope. We sold it to a friend of ours. Grey interior. Red exterior. Leather seats.

Cons: None
