1991 Dodge Stealth 2 Dr R/T Turbo AWD Hatchback Review

One Of A Kind — Every part of this car that includes the word performance is exceptional. Massive amounts of torque followed up with the deepest sounding V6 with a whoosing sound of turbos. What could be better? The car in many people's opinions is beautiful as well as mine. What do you think? The only downsides to this car are the costs to maintain it and also the unavoidable wear on the seats. The Pros of this car far outweigh the Cons. It has been a pleasure owning this car for just over two years now and I plan on keeping it for at least another ten.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Performance, Styling, and Comfort

Cons: Maintenance and Repair Costs

Yeah! — I've own the car for about a week. The Performance of this car is very sharp great with turning and great with speed. Appearance is just a younger brother of the dodge Viper. The transfer box is poor and needs to be replaced a lot more often then needs be.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: All wheel-driver 55 rear to 45 front

Cons: Transfer Box

Well Worth Owning As Long As Its Not An Sohc Engine — i love the somewhat exotic sports car look and the underestimated speed these cars have. Its a fun car to drive with the looks to match. Only complaints are it spins bearings way to easy and everything costs so much.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Extremely FUN to drive

Cons: cop magnet, spun bearings, part/maintenence costs

Not My Type, Not A Bad Car. — Heavy, front-wheel drive, no room in the back... Not my idea of the perfect car at all. But it was pretty luxurious (CD player in 1991, A/C, etc.) and the suspension was firm so it wasn't one of those wobbly American cars. The engine was powerful and torquey, so no need to be shifting all the time, which is great. Not that expensive to maintain, but then again it only saw normal street use under my "reign". It looked great and still does. Too bad I didn't have the AWD Turbo version, but hey, not bad for my first own car!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Looks

Cons: Weight & FWD

Great Car. — Performance - 0-60 time is a bit slow but it isn't all too bad. Handles corners like a champ. I bought mine when it was dead so I needed to replace the transmission (Manual 5 speed). Haven't had any mechanical problems with the car since then. 147K on it. Appearance - All to love. Looks great on the outside. The 3S's have nice looking bodies to them. I love the interior, although it's a bit cramped. Certainly not the best for having passengers in the back. The gauge arrangement is just fine, only real complain I have is the rear three-quarter views are limited by the pillars. Otherwise, it's a blast to drive.

Pros: Decently fast, looks great

Cons: Poor mileage, heavy car - doesn't pull as fast as it could  (No TT on mine)

Stealth R/t Turbo — This car was a blast to drive. Spectacular around corners and off the line. Loved driving it. The down side was maintenance - I had to replace the hydrolic clutch anually ($1200), the air bag sensors seemed to always have a problem, and changing the oil was a pain in the ass.

Pros: Performance

Cons: Maintenance

'91 Dodge Stealth (modified) — Awesome car. With a little modification the thing will out run everything. Gas bites you in the butt though. Still probably my favorite car however. Anyway, it handles perfectly and easily rips rcorners. The acceleration almost throws you into the back seat. She'll outrun almost all other cars out there.

Pros: Huge power, perfect handling, very sporty

Cons: MPG, cost to fix
