1991 BMW 3 Series 318i Sedan RWDReview

I Love It. Everything A Car Should Be. — BMW's entry level model in 1991, 1.8 liter DOHC 4 cylinder engine making 136hp. May not sound like much, but this car weighing in at only 2650lbs with 50/50 weight distribution, it makes for a fun driving experience. MacPherson strut front and Independent trailing arm suspension in the rear helps this car handle like some of the more expensive and newer cars. With no drivers aids this really brings the best out of any driver.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: The handling, one of the most "raw" feeling automobiles.

Cons: old age and they start to rust, clean examples are hard to find.

One Of The Nicer Cars I Owned — I owned a 318 ti, a nice car, very well finished, high fun factor, low fuel consumption, very good chassis ... The 318 Ti had a very good 140 bhp back then, which you could really use. The "crude" chassis which can be found in a Z3 or the previous 3 series proved quite ok, you had some rear axle flex impacting straight ahead stability, but nothing worrying.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Performance price

Cons: none

It's Fantastic — Love my car, it's a bit quicker than stock due to the supercharger, but the worst part about it is the minimal tourqe. Wish I had a Mustangs amount. The only thing that is really wrong with it is due to age things break. Overall I love the car.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It's a fun car to drive in.

Cons: Lots of maintenance

Great Fun — I enjoyed this car. The only problem yet again was the parts are hectic to find, and even more hectic to pay. It is not a fuel saver, but it is great fun, and nice with the roof down. Hehe :)

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Convertible - Nuff said

Cons: Parts are expensive

To Drive, Elwood, To Drive. — Not a luxury cruise by any means, but I think it challenges me to be a better driver. Can't beat the steering response and braking. It does pretty good gas mileage-wise for a 20 year old car, but the creature comforts are kind of minimalist.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: When it's in top form, it's a blast to drive!

Cons: A bit high maintenace, and high cost maintenance

Car For People Who Like To Drive — I enjoy a lot to drive this car, the handling, engine sound (M20 inline six) is excellent, the car was made for people who likes to drive, a car thinked for the driver principality, is like a modern classic car.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: The handling is excellent

Cons: low revs torq

I Love My Car — Performance - acceleration okay, braking good, handling okay Build Quality - it has needed repairs - what do you expect from a 2nd hand car? Appearance - pretty standard except for the 17" AC Schnitzer wheels Cost of Ownership - Thirsty, and parts aren't as expensive as i thought Fun Factor - Very fun -- especially when the the back gets out around corners, but i need some performance mods to make it superfun!

Pros: It's not a VW... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6008317197&ref=ts

Cons: My Aircon kakked

Bmw 3 Series — Performance was poo. Braking was not great or handling (but it was old and cheap so I'll let it off) Never let me down and was cheap for parts. Was expensive on fuel. Not really a fun car but looked ok.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: reliability

Cons: fuel drinker

Fun To Drive, Not Really Worth The Cost Of Ownership — Bimmer is pretty sweet, decent gas mileage ok acceleration, and it can corner quite well. Used parts are a mofo to find though and apparently the rear bumper is only held on by two clips, who knew????!!? Not the most comfortable car for a daily driver, better suited as a track car, and it SUCKS in the snow

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Carves corners like it's on rails.

Cons: Maintenance is spendy and there are no parts available.
