Fun Corolla Awd — ill get straight to the point with this one...great first car, handling great due to AWD, altho large turning circle, occasionally hard to find parts for. fun to drive, hard to break, will keep going to matter how bad the conditions Pros: its got everything needed for either a first car or a good reliable car thatll do anything you need. Cons: not great for city due to no power steering and typical AWD turning circle ![]() Looking for a Used Corolla in your area?CarGurus has 21,611 nationwide Corolla listings starting at $1,900. |

Old Reliable, With A Little Pep To Make It Interesting. — They key factor to making a car the best it can be is build quality. Toyota has been the leader in quality products for decades. And my little corolla is no exception. What it lacks in performance and amenities, it more than makes up for in reliability. I know that it will start every time I need it to. And I am 99% sure that it will continue to do so for at least the next couple of years. Mine has over 200,000 miles on it, and it still scoots around like a youngster. I know it will be with me for a long time. Pros: I can't speak enough about the reliability. After 200,000 miles, I get ~24 miles to the gallon. (And I know it could use a tune-up) Comfy to drive, good road feel. Parts are still very cheap. A new alternator was $65. Cons: Not too quick. Feels strong in the straight, but get it twisting and you can feel the understeer. Skinny tires don't help it much. Not the best looking car either. |

A Fast, somewhat Reliable Conversion That Takes Some Time To Get Done Right — A very nice car to own ,a little bit expensive to maintain due to the dealer pricing on certain parts on the ae111 20v engine, other than that It's good Pros: excellent acceleration, open throttle sound good Cons: bit heavy for a 1.6,bad driveability in traffic, cold starts |

What A Machine! — This car has gone through 3 drivers who were learing about manual transmissions, she has no manifold and no heatshield. Her control arm was replaced about 1 year and a half ago. Her hood latch broke so she hasn't had an oil change in about 15,000 kms ( although her oil ALWAYS comes out clean!! ). From empty, it costs me around $22.00 dollars to fill her up.This car still has a lot to give even after 18 years on the job. WAY TO GO COROLLA!! Pros: She has withstood the test of time for 18 years and counting!! Cons: Typical 1990 Corolla: Rusts like crazy!! |

A Well Built Car — Overall the car has lasted for 18 years and has only 45,000 miles. The only maintenence work needed was the regular scheduled maintenence or service needed after 18 years of ownership and use. The engine is suitable for the car, has mediocre acceleration and poor pickup. The brake system is very good, especially in my opinion since I do not like ABS. The car, mostly because of it's low weight, steers very well . The low weight does pose a disadvantage at times though. Pros: Braking, Build Quality, Handling, Reliability Cons: Acceleration, Weight |

Not A Bad Car.. But Not Good Either — the car has decent pick-up.. for a 1.6L 4-banger... it handles okay.. the mileage will vary based on how you drive... sturdy car though Pros: cheap, easy to fix, easily upgradable Cons: not a chick magnet... usually more work than worth, handling is mediocre.. sluggish at times.. oil leak prone |

Great And Reliable, Quick Car Off The Line. — Small engine with a big heart, smooth shifts and easy clutch. A car to learn to drive properly. Exellent on gas, its 1.6 L and small size and light weight combine to have the potential of beeing a awesome track racer. Pros: Very reliable, good on gas and a smooth drive. Cons: Too soft of a suspension. |
